What do you guys think the next 40k army release will be after more Tau?

Will Astra Militarium and Orks finally get their day in the sun?

Space Wolves are confirmed for February. As for a major release, Tyranids would be my guess.

Aren't the farsight enclaves getting a book in Feb?

Besides Space Wolves as mentioned, I wouldn't be surprised if another MEQ codex like Blood Angels were updated before the other xenos factions. Its almost a guarantee that CSM won't be getting a new dex this year, I would expect Dark Eldar, Orks, Nids (maybe) and IG all to be in the later cycle where GW will undoubtedly reverse the design paradigm again.

Space Wolves are getting a multi-week release. I wouldn't put it past GW to do another update similar to what was done with Tau for Space Wolves. Largely, their units that need updating is anything that uses Blood Claw stats (Blood Claws, Swift Claws, Sky Claws, etc.) to the BS4/WS4 profile of the Space Marine Scouts. I would anticipate new rules for the Space Wolf Scouts, if not a new kit altogether for them. Probably one with all the options for them. Krom Dragongaze will probably get rereleased. Wolf Priests need a plastic kit, I would not be surprised if we saw one of those.

After Space Wolves, probably Tyranids or Orks. They are the Xenos in the most need of an update, and of the ones left, have the most options for updates into Plastic.

One of the other Space Marine Chapters will get an update this year besides Space Wolves. Every year has had at least two (2014 had three) since 2013. My guess would be Blood Angels, but Grey Knights are also a possibility.

Per the experts, there will not be a CSM codex or any Daemonkin this year. But, there is supposed to be plastic Rubric Marines coming, so who knows what that means.

I hope they redo some of the space wolf and blood angels that are old. Some of those guys are what a decade or more old.

A lot of the Blood Angels kits have been redone quite recently. Which kits need updating?

Mephiston and also Tycho, if they ever get around to making him not a complete waste of points. Even just getting some force multiplier abilities would at least offset his complete lack of offensive capabilities.

Oh, I agree wholeheartedly. However, Blood Angels have the most plastic characters of any faction in the game. They have a Terminator Captain, Death Company Jump Pack Chaplain, Sanguinary Priest, and Terminator Librarian. And that doesn't take into account that they have all of the regular Space Marine plastic characters available as well. It would surprise the hell out of me if they received even more.

Considering that Tycho is dead in the fiction, there is a less than zero chance of him receiving a new model. Dante and Mephiston are about the only ones that would, and even that is unlikely.

Tycho is retconned to be alive now in the 7e codex. And you thought it couldn't get any worse!

Read Tycho the Losts's profile. His death is canon and still in the 7th Ed Codex. He dies in the Third War for Armageddon.

I know! Such inconsistency! I think if you look at it the right way, this allows the player-created Captain to take control of the Company after he dies. Regardless, updating his model would be silly. Dude is dead. They might as well update Aun'va while they are at it.

I would expect the Tyranids codex to compile the different dataslates, such as the Leviathan ones, into one book. Also, the stats for the models that came out in 2014 Nidvember need to make their way into the codex.

Blood Angels should only be a single week release at this point. Next to the basic Vanilla Marines line, it's the single most complete model line in the game. All they really need is to be brought up to the same stats/standards as both of the other new 7.5ed Marine books.

There's a rumor threat currently in the N&R section about Ad Mech getting a new codex sooner rather than later this year, plus at least a couple more model kits.

Chaos is just being given the middle finger as always.

Well, I hope that CSM will get a new codex soon. Otherwise, I don't really care.

I think they wouldn't need anymore than a single week release as well. GW blew an opportunity for that when they released Karlaen and released the new Jump Pack Chaplain. It wouldn't be the first time an army got a new book less than a year after release (Imperial Knights...). Dark Angels only got their plastic Interrogator-Chaplain when they were released, so I am sure GW could come up with something for Blood Angels. Probably something bizarre like a BA Techmarine or a PA Librarian. I would be okay with a codex only update.

I hear you. CSM need help really bad and GW seems to be happy forgetting that they exist.

Nope, the campaign rules are all you're getting for the time being according to the more reliable rumor mongers.

Maybe in 6 months? Maybe in a year? Who knows.
Hopefully you won't be lost in the Warp and hated like CSMs, or just plain forgotten like SoB.

Also... inb4 GW releases Squats before CSMs, IG and SoB to try to save themselves, then following that up with a plastic thunderhawk.
And then dying before SoB get their plastic kits.

My personal predictions for this year, not including the reliably rumored stuff we now know about in regards to Space Puppies + Ad Mech:
- Blood Angels (single week, codex only. Maaaaybe a single clam pack character)

- Tyranids (2-3 weeks, codex that simply organises all their various rules/formations under a single cover + gives them their Bugcruion detachment. Re-sculpts of 1-2 old kits, new combo kit for Pyro/Biovores)

- Orks (2-3 weeks, codex with more changes/fixes than Bugs will get. Kits for a couple new units, re-sculpt of the basic Boyz kit that also has bitz for 'Ard Boyz and thus allows GW to gouge Ork players for $50/kit for 10 models! )

Dark Eldar, Guard, Grey Knights get to wait so more, and we all know that in GW's mind, Chaos players don't really exist anyways!

Tyranids will likely see the Spawn of Cryptus released as the standard Broodlord and the FC Broodlord discontinued. The way that kit is built, they could even release a second sprue that lets you make it into a Lictor.

I just hope Blood Angels get their own super formation and some points drops. Gimme Assault Marine Troops back!

More than likely. Tzeentch only got the one sorcerer. Perhaps Slaanesh breaks free. I am not expecting this to be Chaos Space Marines at all.

Sad Panda said this was to be the year of the 'Blue variety' of Chaos. (Tzeentch)

However, it's almost entirely AoS related, with only new plastic Rubrics "after the summer" according to Lady Atia, and (hopefully) as hinted at by Panda, some Daemonic stuff will be included within the AoS stuff.

Panda also mentioned though that the new plastic LoC, if he comes this year at all, would be on the back end of everything, and not the beginning as was the case with the Bloodthirster. (Dammit! )

I wouldn't be surprised if the daemon stuff is just a tzeentch start collecting bundle with a formation for both systems in it, no new models in the bundle. For some reason they seem to feel like they can't give aos daemons 40k rules.

But that might just be my bitter, disappointed contempt at the release schedule talking.

I had a big faux rant about Slaanesh not having to conform to your color roles, but decided against it.

Watch, the LoC comes out in December (*changing* GW's typical business practice. Just as planned...), Rubrics come out a week before the new year, and CSM codex hits in January. Fulfills everything Sad Panda and Atia have said.

I just want to know if BA will get an update.

Its a logical thing to do - realease the models for both systems to increase chance of people buying - so won;t be happening.

I was kinda perplexed they didn't give the Daemon AoS Bundles 40k rules.

I mean, imagine if they just tacked on "Can Assault From Deepstrike" Those sets would sell like fcking hotcakes, or at least the khorne one would. And it's not like they didn't pull the same shenanigans before (coughskyhammercough)
