It comes out next month. It would show the exclusive or an exclusive would have been mentioned. There WAS talk about a Yu Jing Army Pack which will have an exclusive though.

Nope. Orc is the unofficial name given to the Heavy Tactical Group. The moniker comes from the logo of the manufacturer of the combat armors, the Omnia Research & Creation(ORC) Corporation.

Ah, that's why I was thinking they were PMCs. I could swear that their fluff used to say something about them actually being on loan from Omnia or something. I'm sure I'm mis-remembering that though.

It's the Combined Army Starter set, a Rodok box, and the Combined Army Drone(the new spider/crab drone) box all put together in one box for you to buy. It's slated to be the same price as the USAriadna Ranger Force Army Pack(Ranger Force Starter, Maverick, Devil Dog+K9 Antipode) at $108 and it's to be a May release alongside the Xeodron TAG.

Eh, hating on ORCs is old hat these days. I did like the Black Friar one though.

I am actually quite excited about having them in Neoterra.

Most of those new miniature pics look fantastic. I think the hat on Miyamoto is poorly realised and the foxtrot is just stupid.
Big winner for me is the maghariba guard! (says the biased haqq player) Though that Uhlan is a close second.

I just noticed the Magharibas base is bigger than the 55mm the Guija is on.

This going to be another case of 'find your own base of X size'?

No, seriously, it didn't come with a base. Buried in some FAQ or something someone from CB said it was intended to be on an 100mm base, but since they didn't make those, they didn't include a base. One recommendation was 3 mini-CD's stacked on top of each other, which actually makes an 80mm base. Personally, I hunted down a blank 100mm resin base. Some people just didn't base it, which wasn't too much of an issue in N2 because measurements were from the center of the base, so people juse used the center of the model. With N3 and measurements from the edge of the base unbased Magharibas were more problematic.

If they're doing that again, it'll make the glorious arrival of the model a tad irritating.

Well they also never photographed the old one with a base did they? They have this one, so I would assume it'll come with one.

That's not really the point. The original Maghariba didn't come with a base because they didn't make plastic bases in that size. They didn't bother coming up with a solution, and just stuck a recommendation in a FAQ buried on their website.

At the momment, they also don't make or sell round bases larger than 55mm. This could simply be a base they managed to find that fit. It's a bit hard to say it's not home-made - the picture is so blurry the Mag itself looks home-made. It's just sitting on a black disk.

I'm just wondering if the question was ever asked at adepticon, since there is precedent for them showing a based Maghariba and selling it without a base. If I need to hunt down a certain sized base, I'd like to do it before the miniature is in my hands.

Good point, I just assumed it was a proper base in the photos because it's black but it is too blurry to tell.

GW sell a plastic "100mm Round Base". I don't know what its actual diameter is, though, and I don't know of any other plastic bases that size, but I'm sure some of the resin base manufacturers will have one.

On the other hand, Corvus Belli clearly commissioned the 55mm bases out of nowhere (does anyone know who actually manfactures CB's bases, and do they sell them separately?), so it's not outwith the bounds of probability that they've also commissioned a 100mm base mould.

The Uhlan looks lice, but I worry that all that crap he's standing on will push the price up needlessly, like the Highlander Cateran sniper.

Judging by the mat it's sitting on whatever it's on is about 70mm. Hopefully if it has a base it's a little larger as it does look a bit squished on that base. The slightly wider pose of the artwork/render looks a bit better in my opinion.

Isn't the diameter of the S8 Silhouette supposed to be 70mm?

So, no more CDs.

Does anyone make a 70mm base? I'd assume that CB are going to have to include one somehow, in order to make sure that it's been based legitimately.

While true, they also pushed a lot of models to those 55mm bases, some that didn't necessarily need to be (aragoto bikers were small on a 40mm base, thay're tiny on a 55mm), and I can only assume it was done to justify having the base size made by whoever did it.

Doing it for a single model, which is also a TAG which aren't the highest selling models they have, and that single TAG being one of their lower selling TAGs, doesn't scream financial sense. Even if they threw a redone Jotum and Avatar on it, it still wouldn't.

However, it's entirely possible they've gone with a plastic base in a size that's commercially availabe. But again, I'd simply like to know. If I need a certain sized base for it, I'd like to hunt one down so when I get the model I can just build the thing, stick it on its base, and put it in my paint queue.

I see a place for them in my Shock Army, it's easy to get a good number of rather useful line infantry in there. A bit saddening ORC didn't get the missile launcher like it was the case with Mobile Brigada and Janissaries, although I don't recall seeing any chatter about them getting Fireteam: Duo or Haris. Multi rifle is a decent all round weapon, it even gained new ammunition.

That is because all overlook the poor orcs, even in the reported news from adepticon, they get Haris.

So a secondary link for the main link, not too bad for me.

I find deflector and hacker for ORC being really unique option. I am going to take this variation for a run once the book drops. I was afraid killer hacking device is going to kill hackers just a bit too easy or not offer enough risk. Position of repeaters is rather important and I like the thought that even Nomads can't simply spam repeaters and think they can't be touched. Changes to Montesa make me wish the expansion would be already here.
