Old Man of the Mountain is an AI*. Kind of hard to make a mini of that.

The civvies have plenty of in-game use, since HVTs are an integral part of the scenarios now. The rescue scenario in HS requires 4 of them.

(*Pure speculation of course, but I'm not the only one who has speculated thusly.)

I think the Bootlegs were a mixed success. Mag guard pilot and the O-12 comissioner seemed popular enough. Bootleg Penthesilea is a nicer mini than the regular one (My Opinion™) and seems popular-- but could be because it was a GenCon mini. The others, which were not readily playable, I don't think did so well. Because they were not, well, readily playable. ( Never saw the Lizard Squadron Pilot on a table.) Nice for the painters though, which was their target market anyway.

The Dire Foes boxes did very well, from what I hear. I expect that CB will release a few more to cover some of the other sectorials, like ASA, Onyx, USAriadna, &c... Maybe for this year's GenCon. Any rumors on what it will be? Seems like an announcement should be coming soon. GenCon is 4-7 August this year.

Of course you don't. And just like any number of things regarding Infinity, they talk about these things in random places such as the Spanish forums, podcasts, seminars, etc etc. Look around. It was mentioned at an event last year.

The bootlegs were never planned to be a steady, for example a once per year release, but a creative output for the sculptors and design team when there is time, at the moment as you realize there is an update of sculpts phase.

The last one was the O-12 high Commissioner and if more come they could be as sporadic as he was.

Edit I have to add that without knowing sales data, your statements are just speculations, maybe biased by your opinions too.

i was just asking if there has been any announcement, because i was surprised to see the Scarface Bootleg marked as discontinued...
i'm trying to get to the source, not spread misinformation or anything, as well as giving people who may have been on the fence about buying him the heads-up that he may not be around much longer...
would be good to know for sure...

both The Warstore and Fantization have Bootleg Scarface marked as discontinued...
looking at the cast, i am of the opinion that it may be a mold killer, like my Inquisitor 54mm Vindicare Assassin...

it is an amazing sculpt, though...
they did a great job on the cuts for molding, and the interior looks really good...
the only other sculpt i have that has a similar design is the con-exclusive Khador Bomardier Bombshell, and she is a hot mess...
Scarface blows her out of the water for clean design...

Hey jah-joshua, do you play Infinity or just paint? If I recall correctly you sell painted minis too?

Sorry for going off topic, it gets a little tense here at times and you genuinely seem to enjoy the models, which is the same reason I started buying Infinity models. Right now I don't think there's anyone else hitting their level of skill when it comes to sci-fi minis.

On topic: I like raised visors, or anything that lets the sculptors stretch their creativity. They've got the talent, let 'em flaunt it.

my personal collection of unpainted Infinity minis is pretty big, and definitely needs some love...
they've done 2nd editions of TAG's before i have had a chance to paint the originals :(

i really like the setting, too...
the art in the 1st edition rulebook, and the first Squalo sculpt had me immediately, 10 years ago, and they just keep getting better...

You use a civvie every single game. It's a HVT. You use a TAG pilot when you use a TAG and it dies. I fail to see how TAG pilots get more table time than a HVT.

Sure, you're not specifically doing anything with the HVT, but if you paint one up nice it gets displayed every game for all to see.

There's been no announcement from CB to the public or to retailers about any of the Bootleg range being discontinued. In particular, Bootleg Scarface is still on the CB order form.

That Bootleg O-Yoroi, though... That one was fantastic.

And that amazing conversion Angel made with it for his book!

Gee, why would basically the biggest Infinity distributor in the US list something as "Discontinued by the Manufacturer"?

CB has been good about explicitly stating when other products have been discontinued so I'm not sure what you're implying.

Hey hey, I can be a dick on the internet too; the warstore shows bootleg Scarface being in stock and not discontinued plus a well known UK store owner says it's on his purchase list!

On the other hand, Fantization has it listed as discontinued.

CB list all newly discontinued items in the monthly emails to retailers. Bootleg items have never been listed, and are still available from CB.

glad the Warstore no longer has Scarface marked as discontinued...

i'm happy that it got me off of the fence, though, and finally motivated me to buy Bootleg Scarface...
such an awesome little diorama...
his TAG may be down, but Joe can still beat alien face!!!

i am really happy with all of the Bootleg minis...
i like a bit of cheesecake, and really enjoy a model that is perfect for display purposes...
that said, i think that the action diorama angle is really cool, and i hope that CB will add more to the range...
the girls are great, but i want more little battle scenes...

Nope. As it stands, they're not in the predicted release schedule.

There's not been a hint of a release date or any sign of a render yet, so they could be any time in the next couple of years.

i see people using clear acrylic bases, and die a little inside

can't wait to see what the Uhlan is going to look like after Angel's magic touch...
i have been very impressed with the almost all of the TAGs so far...
they are a painter's dream, if you like stompy robots...
the original Squalo was the mini that sold me on Infinity, back when it was a new release...
i've bought nearly every TAG since then, but, sadly, they are all waiting for a place in the queue, five or ten years later :(

Not happy that Tik and Uhlan are in the same box; or that they don't have parts enough to build duplicates of either.

Them being in the same box is great for vanilla players; not great for Sectorial.
