I have two extremes of options; some servo skulls ('bout as small as you can get) or the Tau Shieldwall (it count's as one model, right?!)

@BillyC - ayup dude this is totally about motivating yourself to paint your models, and yes, get better, but generally just to paint. Anyway that's my take ^_^

I can’t make up my mind, so I think I’ll just paint both. Won’t be a diorama. I use different baseing for my Eldar and marines, so they won’t match. But I’m going to try to do the BaC dread and an RT Eldar Meltagunner (in fire dragon colors)

I think I voted for One Among Many, to force me to paint the fire warriors, but if it ends up as Size Matters Not then I guess I'll just be forced to paint my Ghostkeel.

So I'll probably get some grots in order to participate. Then I thought, "Hey, Yoda said 'Size matters not!'" So I considered wanting to convert a grot into Yoda for the extra fittingness of the theme....

Until I discovered this idea has already been done (quite successfully) in a previous challenge. Is there any sort of rules or consensus on this type of dilemma? I don't want to look like a copycat, so maybe I should just not do it?

They do say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery! I say never let the fact that someone has already done something stop you trying. It's still your idea, your work and your end result!

I'm not sure what I'll do now. I'm working on my second stompa, but there's no way it'll get done all in February!

Maybe my Killa Kans? or one of them? Or maybe it's time to paint my trukk?

After making a potato head stompa that literally reproduced Irondog's, and posting it here, I'm certainly not in any position to argue too heavily in favour of originality. But then, I wouldn't want to, either: part of the joy and great thing about this hobby is that we can inspire each other with our projects and ideas. You're not copying and pasting, you're taking an idea and developing it on your own. You still have to sculpt/convert the model, and you still have to paint it- so it's yours. I mean, I'd think that it's still important to cite the original source to give credit for the idea, but I'd say go for it!

There will be another thread for when this round actually starts right? or does this one get updated on the OP... I forget. Either way I might be changing my idea for the entry.

Yeah, that'll be fine. If you could just take a proof pic with where they are at the start, then it's all good.

You could also not include detailed photos of that part - if we don't see it then it could be grey for all it matters

Ive had some DA's from my DV set just looking at me nearly finished for about 3 weeks. So I will abandon them for now, and go and dig out the old Hellbrute. Going to give him the same lava pattern that my aspiring nutjob of chaos got the last time I did a challenge! I am hoping I can pull it off on a bigger scale!

Januine - I have the opposite problem. I have a week at the beginning of February, and then some other commitments will kick in and I won't have much time at all for hobby :(

My wife asked me what I'd do if I won that massive Powerball lottery (the billion dollar one), and my answer made her laugh... "Have more time for painting minis!!"

My wife had a 'golden pig' dream the other night (it's kinda big thing in Korea - Koreans see it as a sign of really good luck and money coming your way) and went a bought a few lottery tickets the next. She askedme what I wanted to do if we won.......warhound titan and the rest of the tagh/admech stuff please was my response! Poor lass nearly snorted her coffee out her nose laughing

I'd legit hire some of you to paint models full time. I don't even want the models, i just want you to have that job.
