I have gone and made myself a squad of 5 centurions (magnetised arms so I can choose assault or dev), and am about done on the modelling side of thing except for one thing:
I love the underarm pose of the guns, but they are a tad large compared to the forearms of the model - I was thinking of making them look more "balanced" (youll se what I mean when you see the pic, they look very back heavy) by attaching pipes/wires from the back of the gun to the vent-like things in the rear of the armour (seen below) and was wondering what I could use for this?

Yeah, I think something taking the 'line' of the gun back round into the main body would make them look a little more coherent. The conversion itself looks good, though.

Niice. How do they compare to normal centurions? They look slightly smaller

Yeah, the only thing I oculd htink of doing that would have that effect (within my modelling skills) would be to attach the pipes like I mentioned earlier :( no idea what to use as the pipes though...

Size comparison to a regular terminator- they're ever so slightly taller, and noticeably bulkier.

Guitar String/Wire.

Would that work if only one end was attached? The arms will occasionally be swapped out so I need the wiring to come away with the arm. Would they be able to be put in position and hold their shape?

Guitar wire might be hard to cut, no? I'd use a thicker gauge copper wire -or a thinner gauge that's insulated. They're usually pretty malleable, so you could bend it to whatever shape you wanted, and easily painted.

The conversion looks great, and the models look super nice and bulky. Though, given their size, I'd wonder if they'd not be better suited to terminators?

Thanks! I'm not too fussed about height as long as it's not horrendously off. I only ever play with a small group where the rule of cool is law If I was going to a competitive environment I probably wouldn't use them (They are closer to terminator dimensions tbh).

I made them into centurions as they come with magnet holes pre-drilled as well as puppetswar having circular saw arms which could easily pass off as siege drills (or saws ), so the kit pretty much lent itself into centurion alternatives (plus the materials for a squad of five was a little less in cost than the GW kit for three IIRC).

Plus I love the GW terminator models

Oh that definitely works!

In the grimdark future of the 41st millenium I like to think they can find away to keep cabling encased in the armour .

Been wondering if people would do this with the PW models, it looks good.

True about the cables! That's my own fault though the original models (destroyers) have a covering/panel that doesn't fit over the SM head (kinda reminiscent of the mechs in avatar). I think it looks cool, kinda like getting a glimpse inside the techno-doodads of a terminator suit.

Space wolf players could always paint them brown/black/blonde/etc and claim that the marines' dreadlocks have escaped from the helmet (think predator style)!

Oh no, you misunderstand, hadn't even clocked the cables behind the head (which are inside the suit so get a pass), I was obliquely saying I think the guns on the arms are fine as they are without any guitar wire or equivalent.

aaaahhh ok Yeah I see what you mean, but there's always been a mad scientist part of me that shrieks with glee whenever I see a gun with cables running out of the back (especially for grav-cannons ).

On the other hand, I might just readjust the guns so that they sit more central in relation to the forearm....
