so ive come across some Eldar in a trade and now i have at the moment
2 wraith knights
5 wraith lords
and 15 wraith guards
so i wanted to do a Doom of Mymeara Army but that is all i got so far. ... ive never played Eldar but my favorite models happen to the ones i received above , all the tanks and mainly Dire Avengers
Other units i like are fire dragons, the jet bikes, vypers , swooping hawks and banshees and the forge world avatar ... i know none of their rules but i choose my favorite units by how cool they look...
so what ide like to know !
Has anyone played the campaign listed above??? what is it like, why is it special?
Are the units ive listed complete crap or will i have a pretty competitive list running an army mainly consisting of these models ?
what exactly do these units do???
would you recommend anything specific ?
What style of tactics can i use? what are eldar better at? aggressive ?? defensive? sneaky squirrel ? ( only some will get that joke )
should i pick up airbrushing to make these models look as good as i can get them or can i come out with just as good quality by hand?
lastly if you have pictures to show off your eldar army or favorite model please do! its how i get motivated! hahaa
thank you for any input

All the Emperor requires of us guardsmen is that we hold the line, and die fighting. Its what we do best. We die standing.
I'm in the same boat as you. Love the wraith models and I'm slowly building up an Eldar force. The most popular and cheesy build with eldar is jet bikes with seer council.
From what I've gathered with wraithguard you NEED wave serpents to get them into range. Their weapons are very short range but they are D strength!
Wraithlords are....ok. if you do the wraithhost formation thing you need 1 wraith lord anyway.
Wraith knights.... are wraith knights. These guys can turn a 'meh' army into something nasty. I wouldn't run more than one though, that's how you lose friends.
Banshees are generally meh from what I've heard. Eldar aren't a super effective assault army and thats all this unit is
Dire Avengers are good.
Swooping Hawks are good.
Fire Dragons are your anti armor unit. Though they also need wave serpents to get into range.
As for painting, airbrushes are really nice. You can get some neat effects from them or just spray a massive army in no time. You can get a really nice paint job by hand as well. It really depends on how much time/effort you want to put in and how skilled you are with either method.

Generally if its an ITC event or you want to play an army that would be good for an ITC event, you'll nly need one Wraith Knight.
I have played against Iyanden battlehosts (wraith armies basically) and they are slow plodding things other than the Wraith Knight. Strongly recommend some long range support so that the Wraiths can get where they need to go. A Dark ldar Haemonculus with a Webway Portal is not a bad way to go to get some Wraithguard where they wanna go. a Wave serpent for the rest perhaps.
Hold out bait to entice the enemy. Feign disorder, and then crush him.

I have no idea if you’re joking but you’ve managed to get your hands on some of the most powerful units in the game… they are competitive and specialize in harvesting player tears and beating face… minus the Wraithlord.
CAD Bikes + wraithknight + Swooping Hawks/Spiders + x forgeworld units = semi competitive. Min/max as required for moar competitiveness
Eldar in general like mobility and offensive capability, whilst on the other hand they are not the most durable, so fast hit and run tactics through jetbike assault moves or overwhelming force.
A fun list semi-competitive list that I like the look of is Windriderhost + Wraithhost, having all your wraith units have battlefocus, running an automatic 6” every time. Incidentally it all makes use of bikes, knights, vypers, wraithguard, a wraithlord and a wraithknight so it almost sounds perfect for you lol.
Yes Eldar are very fun to play as you can scale up or down whoever you decide to play with, just please understand (unlike most Eldar players apparently) that with great power comes great responsibility and an inadvertent increase in dreadnought sockings if you're not careful.

im glad to be getting into this army actually, ive been playing imperial guard and nurgle armies mostly for the past few years so i think ill enjoy the change in pace and paint scheme!
im thinking about going along the lines of Doom of Mymeara campaign. and following the paint scheme as well as the snow bases from there
thankyou for the input thus far and anything else you may have for me!

If you can get an airbrush for just the base-coats, do it. It gets a 'clean' spread on the 'cleanest' army. Eldar appreciate airbrushes more than most.
Poke through my gallery for what I managed with some time and a lack of imagination. You'll be able to do far better, I am sure.
Masking tape and an airbrush.
Your Eldar demand at least that! Just add transfers or freehand.
Apologies for derailing the thread with all that.
Though, Doom of Mymeara is a FW campaign, and there is a section in the FW Modelling Masterclass book 2 to help paint that army.

Using the Wraith Host formation your wraith units will get battle focus. Have them as part of an Eldar Warhost and that 6" run is guaranteed due to matchless agility.
