Has it been answered if all these new heroes are cross compatible with regular Arcadia?
I know the ones in the retail box will be, but what about all the stretches?

@Jelmer Bergsma: At this point, only the heroes in the Masmorra core box have Arcadia Quest cards.

I think the key words there are probably "at the moment."
I could totally see them sneaking in a stretch or two to get these new heroes cards for regular Arcadia.

I would hope so,
although there isn't a lot of demand in the comments for it (yet) which surprises me

It's probably a safe bet that they'll get cards for AQ.
The pledge price seems fair so I'm in.

As for this, I'll wait to see the figures and stuff.
I'd love to have a relatively quick dungeon crawler I can teach the kiddos to get them into games.
For Sedition Wars, I'd assess 80% of the disappointment can be attributed to Studio McVey (bad rules, scale change, style change, unnecessary rebalance), and maybe 20% to CMoN (curling boards).
I think this particular game isn't big on figures. The monsters are cubes, not figures!
I think Mice & Mystics may be the ideal starting point for kid-friendly dungeon crawling. SDE 2.0 has way too much going on, to the point of distraction. The D&D board games seem to be themed for older kids.

If they don't here it's a good bet they may get them via official print and play with CMONs organized play team.

I was annoyed when they had SDE legends so close after TFK shipping - but this is getting ridiculous.

I'll wait and see. I'd want all of them to have cards. $65 + 30 shipping isn't going to do it for me, otherwise.. I just went with the "remind me" button and I'll have one eye on this thread..

Agreed. I was more excited for the possibility of an official Fallout game though, not the fact Mantic might be behind it.

I'd really like one of these chibi-themed games to have a mechanic as simple as dungeon saga i.e.
"move up to the move value on your card"
"make an attack by rolling the number of dice on your character card". [example roll]
"Open doors and chests with attacks."
"You have a special feat on your card, it can be used once per game".
"This is your objective for this mission".
I can get people playing that game within the space of 1 minute, and finish the shorter scenarios within 20 minutes. It is a brilliant example of a game where the core of it is simple, and complexity is added later via bolt-on cards, new spells and abilities etc.
It's really odd, the chibi games all seem to combine the simple cartoon style with rules that are the fattened suckling offspring of special rules bloat and feature creep. Chibi is an art style where characters are reduced to their most simple and important features, and yet here we have chibi games where the rules are the antithesis of that.
This one looks like a step in the right direction, although minis fighting dice rather than minis kills it for me.
Either dice v dice or minis v minis is good.
Hopefully they have some add-on minis to buy where you can roll the dice as normal then place the appropriate mini on the board.
If they add that, I'll consider it, although the minis aren't as good as the SDE ones, the sculpts all have the same angry/constipated expression and the female minis all have dental floss covering their nipples and not much else.

Squig - Those kinds of mechanics are what I had hoped SDE would deliver, with their retro gaming style action buttons and special moves. Instead they went with bloating the feth out of it with special rules, status effects (though that's been slimmed down) and a clunky as feth AI system for co-op. Pity.
Now I didn't look over this one very hard, but you fight dice? So you roll for monsters and instead of placing a mini of a monster, you place the actual die? You'd think CMON would heap piles of monster minis on you instead and have you place those corresponding to the dice rolls. Maybe that will happen via stretch goals?

Yeah, fighting dice does defeat the point of having minis for the hero's for me. I get that they are trying to make this on the cheap, but that's a bit off putting. I'm either using my imagination or I'm not, the idea of having my character go up against a boss dice that just happens to be a different colour doesn't really seem as involved as going up against a proper, imposing figure.
A dice mechanic to decide what monster is in the room is fine, but to not actually have monsters seems like cutting corners. Hopefully they do release some as options to buy, or even as SG's instead of just yet more heroes that you don't really need (and most of which have a very similar look to them anyway).

I have to admit that's putting me off here too.
I know it probably 'doesn't matter' game-wise, but I was hoping for actual miniatures of monsters and bosses too.

Agreed. Descent provides tokens of the Lieutenants in the expansions but produces separate miniatures for those that want to buy them. I'm willing to spend the additional $9 to place a model of a boss among all of the other models of characters and rank and file opponents.

If there were minis for all the monsters it would certainly bump the MSRP of the game more than $9.

I think you need to consider your willingness to simplify the game that is given to you. SDE is a prime candidate for players taking a chainsaw to the rules and ripping out bloat, to streamline the game.

Best character stretch revealed?
Best character stretch revealed.
Definitely looks like they're going to re-imagine all the original Masmorra characters as Arcadian versions of themselves.
Makes me wonder if we'll get the Adventure Time homages then.

It's not a miniatures-on-a-grid dungeoncrawl and (I think) you automagically kill off the monsters if you can generate the right icons. So fishing around for miniatures would add unnecessary fiddliness to the game.
Cards in place of dice would add variety and complexity that you can't have with dice. But I'm guessing the dice make the game more visceral and the game's simple enough that dice work.
OrlandotheTechnicoloured wrote:(Series A financing tends to occur when the company is generating some revenue from its business model, but rarely will the business be generating net profits at this point. Most series A investors will be venture capital funds or angel investors who are willing to accept the high levels of risk found in these early-stage company investments.
As for outside investments, I'm highlighting the important parts. Just because you have investors, doesn't mean you don't use crowdfunding. I've seen KS projects with investors (and I bet some KS creators haven't told you that outside investors are involved), and some KS project creators (videogames and product design) will run KS projects *specifically* so they can attract investor money. Of course, if the investors pull out, guess what happens to the backers...
