So ya, i know the Butchers are gonna be slow, but im hoping their durability will see them through. The Spectres are just chaff that shoots and the Nightmares and the Void Lurker are my fast and hard hitters.

Models wise id like some help too, im probably gonna use some LOTR Army of the Dead minis for the Spectres, the Balrog fro the Voidlurker, and the sweet Batalian minis for the Butchers. I plan on using some Hexwraiths i have to stand in for the Nightmares. If you have recomendations for other minis, and minis for units im not using, id love to hear it. Part of why i love this army is how different each persons army is gonna look.

List seems ok to me. Lurker feels like a heavy investment at 1000 points, but then again you'll probably be leaning on him for fast heavy lifting, so likely worth.

What are the Batalian models for your butchers? Are those LOTR as well? I dig the spooooky LOTR concept, and if the butchers are from that line you might look at cav that match, rather than hexwraiths. Aren't there army of the dead cav too? Or certainly ones you could bang up and paint all spooky.

Thats a Bathalian, and they do have Army of the Dead horsemen, you just buy them 1 at a time. Really if i was was gonna go for that style id use Black Knights from the Vampire Counts painted that spectral style. But ill probably stick with my Hexwraiths as the poor guys aren't seeing a ton of use recently.

Ahhh yea, I know the Bathalians well - you usually see them cropping up as Fiends in NS lists. I feel you on the AotD horsemen - all the LOTR cav in fact - I was just shooting for consistency if you were going for a mostly LOTR thing I'd probably suggest something GW for the Spectres as well (skeleton kit or something) to match, but if you've got a line on AotD models, then rock on!

I did think about going with some other models, but the AotD models look sweet and im already using Spirit Hosts for Wraiths in my Undead army. Really my Nightstalkers will have almost no internal consistency as im just gonna grab whatever strikes me as cool, thus the Balrog.
