Great as always guys. Two armies that I'm interested in playing, so really nice to see them in action, although next time the herd needs to step up.

It would be great to get an after action report from you guys as to what units you like or don't and so on. Kyle, your Night Stalkers inspired me to dig my old Confrontation Alchemists out of storage and build a NS army with them, so thanks!

I generally prefer 2,000 points to 2,500 - you have to make choices, while you can pretty much fit some of everything into 2,500.

The size of the armies can also make the table crowded, making maneuvering more difficult.

Good battle report, I am looking forward to doing battle against the Night-Stalkers sometime soon, my good lady has been gazing at them with a covetous eye....

I agree Auld. 2500 felt clunky. Just felt like I was filling out slots in my army list.

It helps if you use a wider table - makes it a lot less crowded. (We used to play on a ping pong table - five feet by nine feet.)

Another thing that helps is using allies for about 500 of those points - makes it feels less like just filling slots. (Ogres are good for this, with Herd... maybe an allied contingent of Nature?)

One of my favorite games was 3,000 points on a side - two generals on each side.

Dwarfs and More Dwarfs vs. Twilight Kin and Orcs... the orcs used the elves as a screening force. (The Twilight Kin player was not the most tactically gifted of generals... the orcs were played by his wife, who used his... direct approach to her advantage. But it still seemed backwards, somehow....)

The dwarfs were split between a mobile element and a stationary element, Hammer and Anvil.

Nice, brutal battle, with the Twilight Kin being taken out fairly early, but doing enough damage that the orcs eked out a draw.
