Subject: Soo balance of power spoilers dealing with chaos and their defeat?
So a nice aos reviewer revealed the small thing at the end of the balance of power book. In my mind I agree with him that this is huge if you don't mind spoilers watch the vid.
Now those who want the short version.
Spoiler:
It seems sigmar can convert those who have sold their souls to chaos Torglug soul was taken and sigmar made him into a stormcast ghal maraz and the celestant prime pretty much tore his soul from his body when he smashed him in the head. Now that wardens of everqueen novel makes a lot more sense since Torglug was given the most development in the book and without this information honestly the ending is rubbish. This is quite interesting since this could actually spell defeat for chaos since sigmar can now do this.

Audio drama spoilers
Spoiler:
Considering nagash has his soul and the way he was talking to him at the end I think nagash is going to convert him after something like this happening in balance of power. I think this is quite interesting don't you think?
I can see why Matt did not want to spoil this in his review honestly this is HUGE for the whole warhammer setting in general in terms of fluff.

This really does change the Chaos v. Order dynamic. In fact, it's a big deviation from GW's classic trope of "Once you're in Chaos you're in it for life". I wonder where they will go with this.

Two things though - the ability for Ghal Maraz to reclaim souls for judgement was explicitly stated in QfGM - once you had that info we knew we were just waiting for a candidate.. Second, part of Torglug's build up was the story of how he changed - he was the last of his tribe left standing against Nurgle and he was converted through bloody mindedness rather than willingness.
What's more interesting will be to see what happens to Vandus Hammerhand when he gets reforged after being... interfered with by Archaon.

Indeed as I said without this part the ending of the novel is quite lack luster but now this? This is pretty huge in my opinion.

From his background Torglug would have been a likely Stormcast candidate before Nurgle got hold of him. So I'm guessing it doesn't work on every one the Celestant prime brains with Ghal maraz?

It's stated in the Battletome for Celestant-Prime if the chaos worshipper's soul has even an ounce of regret at their actions then their soul will be sent to Sigmar for judgement.
Torglug as we see toward the end begins to recant the Despair that is endemic of Nurgle worship but Nurgle takes ahold of his body and soul but fortunately CP intervenes.

It's a pretty cool idea and one I certainly didn't see coming. Looking forward to the next RG wars novel/campaign book for the fluff as much as the battleplans now!
