Anything new for a Word Bearer's player? Did they get a new RoW?

Yes, and it's amazing.

Last Of The Serrated Sun.

You get Gal Vorbak as troops, and they get (and must have) drop pods. Anyone near a drop pod when they emerge has to take a pinning test because what the hell are they ohgodohgodkillthemwithfire......

Any good White Scars stuff? I'm in the middle of starting them and a paint scheme picture or rules would be cool

Not sure if it was supposed to be in book 6 or in the new Red Book, but did they change the point cost on assault squads? So IXth legion players can do...you know... blood angels-y things.

Are there any infantry units that arrive by telepprtation that the Word Bearers have access to? Arguably Gal Vorbak but they need drop pods in this RoW. I figured it's future proofing them but maybe I missed something.

Edit: Does anyone know if the costs for Destroyers changed? Thanks.

Argal tal is what I meant lol. And this book has zero updates for the Legion units in it, only some new ones (experimental rules), the biggest change unit wise I can see is that you can now take vindicators as squadrons 1-3, and the rapier version is the same, 9 str9 ap1 twin linked shots from that unit potentially, will nuke even a super heavy.

Remember how you guys were saying its pretty clear on the recon RoW? Yeah its an argument and not so clear on B&C lol. Prevailing thought there is Recons are your compulsory troop choice and all three slots have to be filled with recon squads. Looks like a job for FW email responders!

If you dont short hand your list, Im not reading it.
Example: Assault Intercessors- x5 -Thunder hammer and plasma pistol on sgt.
or Assault Terminators 3xTH/SS, 2xLCs
For the love of God, GW, get rid of reroll mechanics. ALL OF THEM!

Interesting... So which units do you think they are trying to stop people using in that RoW?

Drop Pods. Dreadnought Drop Pods. So, no crazed Leviathans dropping in for Crimson Path.

S&P seems like a "just in case" clause. Better to have it now and not need it, than need it and not have it.

That would be in the forthcoming update to the Crusade Army List red book, which is apparently a few months out. The Legions red book is the one we should see in a few weeks.

Nope, sadly it's in the soon-to-be-released red book. I can't WAIT for I: 4 mortarion and I:3 deathshroud! let alone the changes to grave wardens.

I'll never be able to repay CA for making GW realize that The Old World was a cash cow, left to die in a field.

Just for clarity, there are NO unit updates or new units in this book per se, it's all stuff we have seen before as experimental rules or online, the only exception is that vindicators can now be taken in squadrons, this includes the rapier varient.

There are however a ton of new characters, both world eater ones are bloody good, others are average to meh, but all are fluffy as hell, shadrak meduson being my favourite fluff character and the numean lord, an ex dark angel blackshield.

There is a RoW that allows you to take Headhunters as compulsory troops.

No new units, just rites of war, and no colour pics of the new mechanicum character.

I also got my book in this week, and looking at the rules for the Blackshields, I think most of my CSM models might get converted over.

Also I love the Pariah Flamer.

Yeah that pariah flamer is a cool idea, I'm also thinking my Ravenguard might be thrown together with my world eaters to make a shattered Legion, cacaradons

So no Sanguineous, no Lion, no Khan? So they gave us rites of war and no new primarchs :/

RoW and the Legion rules. Its ment to allow you to use the Legions until the book comes out, rather than use the "You get Stubborn or Furious charge" rule.

This. This so much. Everyone keeps complaining about no primarchs and seem to forget all the other cool new rules they just got.

Huge upgrade from "stubborn or furious charge"

Yes that's right, however they have laid the ground work for such units, the blood angels row disallows lords of war, except Sanguinius, and the work bearer one is a blatant pre cursor to the beautiful argal tal model coming later in the year.

To be honest, sod the Legion specific units and lion el Johnson, I get to play my beloved dark angels finally, and they are bloody epic, Legion tacticals with combat blades (gonna be modeled with Broadswords) hitting on a 3+ is a huge advantage, caliban blades are power swords +1 for the same cost, terranic greatswords will eat my mates gal vorbak and great chaos Spawn, plasma repeaters dropping out a rhino is easily removing a unit, stasis grenade launchers for my deathwing terminators, dark angels are gonna be nasty.

They are soo cool. Makes me want to run a Raven or Ironwing force.

Maybe Ravenwing, I love Rad Grenades and Rad Weapons for a theme and they get them in spades in that list. Plus throwing those bolt shells on the Jetbikes.
