Just like the title says:

You pay for your Boss and his upgrades per usual.

You pay 6 points per boy, minimum of 10 mobs, just like it is now.

Here's the difference: all upgrades are free at this point. Nobs, PK's, Rokkits, Shootas = free. Considering there are Formations that allow every unit a free Transport or other great benefits.

Thoughts?

Imo even the warboss's upgrades should be free, considering he's now restricted from taking the bike or riding in a transport.

How about free upgrades for him as well except Gifts of Gork and Mork?

So for 1200 points you could have 90 ard boyz 10 big shootas/rokkits 10 ard nobz with PK a Warboss with PK and a Big Mek stompa. Its waaaay to good GW would never give orks that kind of OP love.

I hesitate to bring even MORE free stuff into the game (free transports was just a mistake in my opinion), but at this point I say go for it. Orks could use the help

This is largely my opinion. Free points was bad game design. Discounted would probably be ok, free just sets bad examples. I mean, ya sure, go for it, but expect a lot of people to get annoyed when you get a fully upgraded Green Tide of 100 Boyz for only 700 points.

Mostly the issue is, is that, that is a ton of points your gonna save. The PK Nobz alone are 350 points.

The whole game went to the crapper the moment GW decided to add Allies into it and throw out the FoC entirely with formations and detachments in the next edition soon after.

The entire point of the FoC and no allies was to make it so that your army had a very clear weakness that you can either mitigate with sub-par choices, or try to ignore them in favour of heavier firepower and hope the opponent doesn't capitalize on them. When people can just pick and choose from the best of almost every single army, the only way to even the odds is to give super-rules to the crap stuff. Like free crap.

So I would say that for the Green Tide, it should really be "free everything". Even Gifts of Gork and Mork. Cuz if the entire thing has to footslog it up the board while being shot at with no transport option, there's gonna be some compensating needed.

I would love this personally. I would then say why not bring 200 boys in the unit? Basically at that point you are bringing the equivalent of assaulty necrons until s8 guns hit you. It's would be beautiful.

GW would sell more models so what's not in it for them? it would cost them nothing and they would gain.
