Will there be an Emperor model? They will have to make one eventually right? I mean... when they get to the end of the HH story, you will need the Emperor to finish the epic battle with the Warmaster.

On a side note; how long did it take FW to get to book 6 and how much longer until they release the final book in the series?

Sorry if it's a newb question. I did a search and didn't find anything.

eventually, probably with the final book. It will be the most purchased model of all time.

well, we supposedly have book 7 (prospero) at the end of this year, but I wouldn't count on it. I'd guess that there will be at least 9 books in all.

I'll never be able to repay CA for making GW realize that The Old World was a cash cow, left to die in a field.

I wasn't debating the if, just the how, I think they will have real issues representing such a character on the tt in any meaningful way, if they make him too weak, backlash.

This may sound stupid... but didn't he almost get his ass kicked by Horus? So wouldn't they just have to make him a little stronger than Horus's current stats?

I know he finally unleashed his massive psychic powers and obliterated Horus completely so I know his psychic would be hard to represent but the rest should be pretty easy.

IIRC the Big E didn't really want to kill Horus, meaning when he had Horus beat, he hesitated giving Horus an opening for a fatal strike (again, IIRC)

No way near. Have you read false gods? Temba, an army general, so a man, nearly beats Horus in combat just through Nurgle's patronage. Imagine how much stronger Horus will be with all four gods giving him everything they have got. They'd struggle to do either justice.

I remember the Buddle telling me that they (the fw team) were talking about doing it as a diorama like Fulgrim and Ferrus, with a dead sanguinius as part of the base. If that's true, it should come with two cards. One says, "The Emperor wins". The other has Horus winning.

My friends and I have talked about this before, and here are my thoughts:

Basically, take Horus. Give him all the marks of Chaos. Maybe even buff all his stats by +1. Give him Lorgar's psyhic abilities on top of all that. That's Horus done.

Now make the Emperor pretty much the same. Perhaps, instead of actual psychic powers, just give the Emperor some very strong abilities (his psychic mastery doesn't necessarily need to be represented in the "traditional" way, just look at the rules we have for the Navigators). In any case, the Emperor should largely be the same as Horus, just with a different spin.

Because, personally, I believe this whole idea of the Emperor 'holding back" in his fight with Horus is just purely Imperial propaganda. There is an entire religion built up around the Emperor. So, of course the Emperor has to be stronger, has to have "held back" in the fight, because the truth, that Chaos can throw up a true equal to the Emperor, would be a massive threat to people's faith in the Emperor.

Yeah, I kind of agree, although I think the Emperor's abilities tend to get exaggerated. I think the idea of him holding back is in the sense of any father fighting with his son. As much as he was trying to win, he was still fighting his son and so would have been pulling his punches abit. As we have only seen things from the imperial pov so far, the same could equally be true of Horus.

I'd probably go down the route of picking a discipline, he gets all the powers, can never peril, harnesses on 2+ and deny on 2+. Not game breaking, but still powerful.

They should a few models, and they will sell by the absolute bucket.

They should do Emps on his own.

On a diorama with Horus and dead Sanguinius, like that extremely famous picture that used to grace the old books.

And then they should do uber Horus. Because awesome

The thing is, the Emperor is, metaphysically speaking, essentially a greater daemon of himself.
No, seriously.
He is the combined psychic, physical, and mental might of a few thousand of Earth's greatest shamen rolled into one entity and poured into a psychically created body.
I'm pretty sure he doesn't actually have what you'd call a "true" form, just a variable ratio between how much of his essence is manifest on the physical plane and how much is in the warp.

So, what's the point of all that? Simple; he can trade psychic power for physical power and vice versa directly without manifesting a psychic power or even trying very hard.

Which explains a whole lot of things:
Hiding on earth unnoticed for 38,000 years? Shrink physical form to that of a mortal man, appear to age and occasionally 'die' before going somewhere else.
Hiding psychic power and the warp from humanity, and vice versa, for most of that time? Well, gotta do something with that untapped godlike psychic might…
Appear to be any size you like, from human up to Primarchs? Basic function of His existence.
Manifest physical strength and speed up to that of a Marked and slightly possessed Primarch? Ditto.
Trade all that in, in an instant, to psychically obliterate said Primarch, down to scattering and dissolving his very soul? Yeah.
Realise your mistake too late when you try to return to normal, only to find said Primarch managed to damage your physical vessel's containment badly enough that trying to manifest yo'self properly again would burst it like a balloon? Oops…

Interesting stuff. I like the idea of multiple Horus models. That makes a lot of sense. Plus, a diorama of the Emperor, Sanguinius and Horus would be amazing.

Mr_Rose I like your theory. That fits the story very well.

He only needs one thing.

Final Sanction- Roll a D6 for each model in base to base with the Emperor. On a 1-5 remove the model from play. On a six, produce your Imperium sanction blow torch and remove the model from reality.

The Narrative has been Forged.

I'm interested to know if there will be a Malcador (not the tank). I know he doesn't participate in battles, and rules wouldn't be necessary, but I feel like he needs representing in the character series, even if it's just a robed old guy with a staff.

Well with the points cost at likely over 1k points I think we will have a hard time fitting him into normal AoD games. Horus too if his power level increases.

If you dont short hand your list, Im not reading it.
Example: Assault Intercessors- x5 -Thunder hammer and plasma pistol on sgt.
or Assault Terminators 3xTH/SS, 2xLCs
For the love of God, GW, get rid of reroll mechanics. ALL OF THEM!

A model? Sure.

Rules? Unlikely.

Since FW is at least partially connected with the actual background of the setting, they'd give the Emperor rules that actually reflect that, instead of the rules internet fanboys seem to think he'd have. FW has no interest in alienating the buyers like that.

"'players must agree how they are going to select their armies, and if any restrictions apply to the number and type of models they can use."

This is an actual rule in the actual rulebook. Quit whining about how you can imagine someone's army touching you in a bad place and play by the actual rules.

You mean the fluff where the Emperor is many orders of magnitude stronger than a guy who can move the moon?
The fluff where he forces the entire Word Bearers legion to kneel with his power?
The fluff where he fights off untold numbers of daemons himself after Magnus feths up?
The fluff where the Chaos Gods actuvely fear and respect him?
Face it. The Emperor is OP bs.

Except that time when he nearly got choked to death by an Ork.
There is no set level or anything for the Emperor's power. It depends entirely on what the plot requires it to be.

If you want to call that 30 foot black abomination "just an ork" you'd be hideously wrong.
Besides how was it Horus saved him, if the Emperor couldn't do it?
Looks to me that the Emperor created this scenario to bond with Horus.

Two people in a fight are better than one, especially if your backup is a primarch.

I really don't like the notion that it was a deliberate attempt to bond. Strong as the emperor is, he is not invincible, and needs a few genuine near death moments to emphasize his humanity.

Will they make corpse version? Easier to make rules.

"Faith is the soul of any army; be it vested in primitive religion or enlightened truth. It makes even the least soldier mighty, the craven is remade worthy and through its balm any hardship may be endured. Faith ennobles all of the worlds the soldier undertakes be they so base or vile, and imports to them the golden spark of transcendent purpose."

The internet made that part up. When originally written, it was absolutely "just an ork". It wasn't even an ork leader, it was just some random ork.

But it's been repeated enough of the internet that it's become a meme.

The Emperor is a colossal mass of warp power and souls that looks like a man.
He isn't human at all.
