Crushing Black Templar Crusader Pilot

Hi

Pretty much the title. To keep with fluff for the Black Templars I'm building, I want to give my dreadnought a chainfist. Does anyone have any reccomendations for a good weapon to go along side the chainfist?
Looking at 1d4chan, it looks like the best thing for a chainfist dread is a drop pod, so I'll probably stick mine in one.
Also for anyone wondering, I'll most likely be up against a pretty tank-heavy army. Most of my (completed) Black Templars are pretty anti-infantry, so if anyone has any advice specifically for drop-pod chain-fist tank-poppin' fun, I'm all ears!

Thanks for your help

Sounds like you just need a powerfist on the other arm. Your basic ironclad dread, which does enjoy a drop pod deployment.

Sling a HF under each arm for toasty fun times.

An Ironclad with a Chainfist can be carried by a Stormraven. This should not be ignored because on the turn it debarks it will move 6", then charge 2D6", then strike with 6 S10, Ap2, Armourbane attacks at I4, not to mention a S6 Hammer of Wrath. That will either destroy or castrate anything short of a Baneblade. Put a Crusader or Sword Brethren squad in the Raven for a full-on death vector. I like this unit.

The problem with the SR as a delivery system is the fact that it starts in reserves, and it needs to hover to use the assault ramp. Your best case scenario (barring shenanigans) for assaulting out of it is turn 3. Assuming you don’t get shot down.

A drop pod lands first turn, and you can assault the second. Yes, you do spend a round getting shot at, but AV13 is pretty tough.

I like the SR as a gunboat, not as a delivery system. And definitely not for assault units.
