Hi there!
I would like to share with you all some pictures of my models in order to have some suggestion on how to improve my painting skills!

Let's start:
1)

What I need to say about this Demon Prince is that it was my first nurgle themed model. I wasn't really sure on how to turn it more "nurglish" so I decided to avoid boubles, cables, deseases and what a nurgle demon prince should probably have on this very first stage.
I just gave him a color scheme matching my idea of a nurgle army.

2)

second piece is Typhus from Forge World. Same color scheme of the Demon Prince. At this stage I started using some rusting effect on the scyhte, belive it even if the pictures doesn't show the scythe at all XD

3)

Nurgle Blight Drone. I had a lot of fun on painting this! Here I've learned something more on how to use typhus corrosion and ryza rust with the help of some ink.

That's all for now, please visit my gallery and feel free to post critics and comments!

See you soon.

[EDIT 1: Added link to the gallery pictures for better resolution]

Very nice. The rims on the bases need tidying though .

The first model (Daemon Prince) looks marvelous! It's a little out of character to be so clean, but the paint-job is still great! I love your choice of green - it's not subtle and it really looks good with the palid flesh tones and bone/stone accents. All in all, that model just looks good!

Typhus looks much different. Obviously there is some difference in the photo distance from lens, and the angle, but there are other things as well. The green doesn't look like it's the same color as the green on the Daemon Prince. It's much more washed-out, almost pastel looking. There is also just a lot less going on with that model. To add some contrast - consider painting the cables in a lighter metallic color like silver or chainmail, and then washing it with nuln oil to add the appearance age and use.

The blight drones are honeslty just too far away in that image for me to really get a good look at.

Overall I can see that you have some skill with the brush - that DP looks awesome! Keep up the good work.

First of all, thanks all for the early answer!

@Zaku212 - Thank you mate!

@JamesY - Glad you like it! I will clean the rims asap

@En Excelsis - Thank you for critics and comments! I really need both.
Talking about Typhus, I need to say I changed some setting on the White balance on the camera when I took this picture. Probably it changed too much the real colors, because I can say for sure that the colors used for him and for the DP are the same
About the blight drone, well... I uploaded the picture in my gallery here too... You can see it there if you want... I can't upload the real sized pictures because they are too big

Really liking this so far. The green, while a bit bright, actually works quite nicely.

New pictures for new model!

Spoiler:

Second try with a Nurgle themed Demon Prince.
Skin is softer than the previous one and there's a lower contrast between lights and shadows. Some oxidation has been added as well as the rust effect.
Scythe is way more bloody than it looks in those pictures XD. Tail comes from the maulerfiend model.

@ roddie - Thank you! You'll see more and more! Keep following the Thread

@ Quarterdime Thanks mate! there are 2 different green: Armor and Skin!

Armor: basecoated with catachan green from Vallejo Game color -> Drybrush layer with Camouflage green and a final layer with a 3/1 mix of Dead flesh and Camouflage green. After all, I pulled out some more light with pure dead flesh.

Skin: basecoated with dead flesh, washed with Athonian Camoshade, Drybrushed with Dead flesh, thin wash of Agrax earthshade, add light with 1/1 mix of dead flesh and white.

Nothing difficult but I hope it gives out a nice looking result over all

And now a little new update!

Chosen By Nurgle!
This is a little conversion of the chosen champion from Dark Vengeance set. I have to admit the chosen squad detail level is really impressive but they lack on the possibility on customization.
This is my try to convert an already good model into something more nurglish. The Scythe comes from a tyranid scythe talon with a little green stuff add to join it to the pole and the power cable added in the backside, the other part of the scythe comes from the flagellant scythe bits.
The backpack comes from the possessed Chaos space marine bits. I painted it in a fleshy way in order to give him a living appearance!

I know, I should clean the side of the base but it is sooooooo boring....

Critics and comments are welcome!

See you next time for a new update!

Spoiler:

Hi guys, new update.
This is my Herald, he was the chosen champion, wielding an axe. I removed it and replaced with a bounch of bits in order to build something like a stendard.
Color scheme is always the same, so he will fit nicely in my army.

Now I'm nearly done with my cultist squad and something new is on the work table!
That's all for now, bye!

For a heretic...

"At the point in time when bullets can pass through the interdimensional walls. When firepower takes up the entirety and eternity of space and time, all beings stuck in a neverending life and death cycle as bullets recover and destroy their bodies in quick succession. No one is able to think about anything but the sheer force of the bullets rapidly flying literally everywhere in the materium turning the warp itself into nothing but a sea of semi-automatic weaponry.. Then there will be enough dakka. Or, at least almost." -The Glorious God Emperor of Mankind

Hi there again!
I found the time to shot some new picture:

1)

This is my last painted piece, a nurgle sorcerer for FW.
I really love this piece, there are so many details!
I tried something different on the armor usign the same color scheme. I think it matches the other models style.

2)

Those are my mantic zombies headed by typhus!
Braaaaaains!

3)

Plague marines group shot!
Those models are quite old but they fit my actual color scheme so I think I will keep em.

Bye!

What did you use for the Typhus zombies?

Thanks guys!

Typhus zombies are part of Undead Army from Mantic Game. Really nice models, highly customizable and really cheap (actual price should be around 40$ for 40 zombies).

Hi there! New little upload.
Works progress really slowly lately, I'm having an hard time working.
Here there's my new Chaos Lord in terminator Armor. Obviously it fits my Nurgle Theme. Let's see some pictures:

I had a lot of fun on painting the armor, trying to improve my wet blending skill. I've lost alot of time doing this and i'm not sure of the result overall.
I have used alot of verdigris on the copper armor pieces, I jut think they fit really well the theme and match the gree of the armor. The red of the tabard just broke up all the tone.

Critics and comments are welcome!

Your painting is really, really smooth! Awesome job on all of the models. I especially like the oxidation of the copper on the Lord sword!

Also, your Lord reminds me of Abraham Lincoln

Hi there! Nice progress here. Well, in your OP you asked for feedback so I'm gonna give you some!
Invest some time in color theory. It looks to me like a lot of what you're highlighting with is white and it's fine as often as it instead creates a chalky look to a miniature.
Thin your paints more. More....more....mooooooreeeeee.... This seems to be the single biggest point in moving forward for any mini painter and certainly has been my biggest breakthough. While this seems counter intuitive, thinning your paint so drastically that you are essentially painting with colored water (give or take some viscosity) will actually force you to make it work utilize new techniques, and will push your painting much farther. it's frustrating at first, and also takes longer, sometimes, but the results will soon be obvious. Ultimately you have considerably more control.
Take your time on every aspect of the model. Certain spots here and there look hurried or just that paint was applied to get it over with.
I no longer use metallics really, but if I do, I mix them with a colored base and water them dramatically, some of your bronzes look goopy, which of course is easy to happen considering how most of these metallics are made.

Anywho, they are nicely painted and you should be proud, and any opponent lucky to play against them. But in the interest of getting better at painting....that road is not paid with compliments Cheers and happy painting!

Ehy there and thanks to all for your comments!
@ bebopdrums2424 - That was exactly what i was needing! Thanks for your advices, i'll keep in mind and try to thin my paints more and mooooore XD.. Talking about my highlights I need to say i do not use white at all, probably it's a problem due to my camera. I didn't get what you mean with mixing my metallic paint with a colored base, it would be nice if you can explain me this, hope you can find the time.

Cheers

Sure! As for metallics...say you want to paint gold, I'd take a base color, say for obvious results, brown...and then I mix it with the metal color, then I thin it. Essentially this gives you more color pigment so you can thin the paint better. Because metallic paints are made differently their pigment spreads out preventing you from thinning them as easily. The color basically just strengthens the pigment.

As for the white / chalky comment. The first pics look chalky...if maybe use a glaze to warm it up a little bit. I use glazes often. Sometimes 10-20 coats of it. It must be literally almost clear or else you'll see it and it needs to be more subtle than that. At least in the context of which I speak.

Of course there are no rules and these are just my techniques and experimenting for yourself will yield the most results!
