So of course most sons of the lion know that he disappeared after the battle with Luther, but i had recently seen something online and learned that The Lion was actually in stasis in the deepest recesses of the rock, and not even the chapter master knows of it, only the watchers in the dark, can anyone shed more light on this?

The Lion's taking a nap in the deepest part of the Rock, and he's supposed to wake up when the Imperium needs him the most. Only the Watchers know that he's actually there.

TheEyeOfNight- I swear, this thread is 70% smack talk, 20% RP organization, and 10% butt jokes
TheEyeOfNight- "Ordo Xenos reports that the Necrons have attained democracy, kamikaze tendencies, and nuclear fission. It's all tits up, sir."

Not much else to tell. The Watchers in the Dark carried him off after he was fatally injured by Luther.

He was injured and put himself into stasis (marines can do this). The Watcher's in the Dark look after him in a hidden chamber in The Rock.. He'll wake up when the plot is convenient.

At this point he's the only loyalist primarch that we know for a fact is alive.

Technically Rowboat Girlyman is alive too.

Technically. Because he's in stasis and hasn't actually died of the poison yet.

Technically correct which is the best kind of correct.

With each new 7th edition release we seem to be creeping closer to some kind of end times. The fact that most recent campaign book has the Dark Angels about to fight the Space Wolves has me thinking that nap time might be ending/ the Wolf time is here.

I agree, due to the challenge from the Lion towards the space wolves they have had beef. i think that its very possible for DA fighting SW being canon for some reason.

I think Dorn is the only Primarch that is confirmed dead post-Heresy (Sanguinius and Ferrus Manus both died during the Heresy). Everyone else not in stasis of some kind is lost in the warp or the webway.

Not even Dorn is confirmed dead, they only found his hands floating in the wreckage of a Chaos Cruiser.

Remember... Guilliman survived in the vacuum of space without a helmet. Dorn could still be out there somewhere, avenging the Emperor like only he could.

Almost all the ex legion chapters have some sort of myth around their primarch being alive and coming back when needed.

Even the Blood Angels have the myth around the sanguinor being Sanguinius.

Corax - webway
Russ - webway
Giulliman - Stasis and "recovering"
Lion - stasis
sanguinius - sanguinor
Dorn - only his hands!

Heck, even the Iron Hands could not accept their Primarch is actually dead.
"It was only a flesh wound!"
"A flesh wound? His head's off!"
"It is not like he needs it anyway! He'll be back, you'll see! Anytime now..."

No. I am Alpharius. You are Alpharius. We are all Alpharius.

There is one in-universe account saying he was killed at the battle of Eskrador, but in truth it is impossible to say whether it was really Alpharius who was killed or whether it was Omegon or just an ordinary Astartes posing as Alpharius. Even Guilliman himself doubted that Alpharius was truly dead. Alpharius would undoubtedly want everyone to believe he is dead, so it is quite possible he staged the whole thing.
A fan theory even says that it was Guilliman who was killed and that Alpharius took his place as Primarch of the Ultramarines, ready to destroy the Imperium from the inside out, only to have his entire plan crashed by Fulgrim.
Note that the only in-universe source (Inquisitor Kravin) on the battle of Eskrador was later accused by his fellow Inquisitors of being in league with Chaos, after which he suddenly disappeared without answering to those allegations.

Unless Fulgrim was in on it, and made it seem like he'd poisoned him enough to go into stasis. Then when he wakes up 10,000 years later there is no one alive who would know it isn't Guilliman........ The long war indeed.

Never mind the UMs say the Battle of Eskrador never happened.
