That is really strange. I don't believe I've heard of GW offering to help find stolen goods before.

not find, REPLACE, I am still totally shocked by the matter too, I'm not expecting anything really, but the offer to see what they can do is... quite frankly, amazing, the offer alone has improved my opinion of them by leaps and bounds.

That's amazing. If you get a replacement for your loss, either through their offer, insurance, or out of your own pocket, I volunteer to paint one unit or character to help get you going again. I'll never win a golden daemon, but I can paint to a decent standard. It's a genuine and open offer (and no hard feelings if you'd rather not).

And my axe!

Er, I mean, brush!

Whatever, yeah, I'll help paint stuff.

Me too. I'm a big fan of your paintwork and imagine you're probably wanting to rebuild yourself, but if it helps get your armies on the table again then I'm willing to do up some stuff!

Best of luck with the replacements!

So it looks like you are not getting your stuff back. Well as promised I will help you rebuild your collection. So Formosa what unit do you want? I need your address as well so PM me that.

I got plenty of Nids, painted and unpainted as well as space marines, and space wolves.

Having items stolen really grinds my gears. I've had deals on Dakka end up with me losing out on a return model and no recourse for action as 1. it was either a 5 man squad or a single model or 2. I live in NZ and no local authority will do anything about it.

I feel for you and the loss of multiple models from your treasured collection.

IceAngel wrote:I must say Knightley, I am very envious of your squiggle ability. I mean, if squiggles were a tactical squad, you'd be the sergeant. If squiggles were an HQ, you'd be the special character. If squiggles were a way of life, you'd be Doctor Phil...

Now you need a vat of paint. Sneaky GW.

Good of them though. I had not expected it, and a good-will outcome to a bad situation.

Its not everything but thats still awesome they did that for you. They didnt even have to do that really but its cool to see them do so.

I had an unexpected addition to an order today. £3 order for bases that they forgot to dispatch a couple of weeks ago. I phoned on Friday to ask about them. They arrived today with a £10 voucher inside. I was very surprised, especially given the low value of the sale (which was already being sent without p&p due to a problem at whw when I ordered them).

That's nice. Of course you'll probably go and use that voucher to buy something for more than a tenner so they will get a bit more money out of you on account of their mistake!

A (somewhat) happy ending to a very sad story. I'm very touched to see that GW cares enough about a customer to replace stolen miniatures as opposed to ones that were lost in shipping or damaged. Very good PR move on their part. While nothing can replace the sentimental value of the actual stuff that was taken, this should go a long way to easing that pain. Again, I'm very happy to see this end well.

My armies (re-counted and updated on 11/7/24, including modeled wargear options):
Dark Angels: ~16000 Astra Militarum: ~1200 | Imperial Knights: ~2300 | Leagues of Votann: ~1300 | Tyranids: ~3400 | Stormcast Eternals: ~5000 | Kruleboyz: ~3500 | Lumineth Realm-Lords: ~700
