Looking to get started with 30k, World Eaters being my legion of choice (big surprise). I've been mulling over the books, and while I haven't purchased anything yet, this is what I've come up with for a starting 2000 pts list. Looking for feedback.

Spoiler:

Rite of War: Pride of the Legion

HQ
Kharn the Bloody (190)
-Legacy of Blood

Troops (1405)
Legion Tactical Squad (275)
-19 Tacticals with CC and Bolt Pistol
-Sergeant with Artificer Armor, Power Fist

The Red Butchers (565)
-4x Butchers with 2x Power Axe
-The Devoured with 2x Chainfist
-Dedicated Transport: Land Raider Phobos w/ Armoured Ceramite

The Red Butchers (565)
-4x Butchers with 2x Power Axe
-The Devoured with 2x Chainfist
-Dedicated Transport: Land Raider Phobos w/ Armoured Ceramite

Elites (65)
Apothecary with Artificer Armor, Power Sword

Heavy Support (340)
Spartan Assault Tank
-Flare Shield
-Armoured Ceramite

Kharn, Apothecary, Tac squad in the Spartan, Red Butchers rumbling up behind. Admittedly a little weak on AA, was considering a Contemptor-Mortis with Lascannons but don't know where it would fit.

Edit: Edited for clarity.

Well, you're rockin' WE style, but Red Butchers are Elites, not Troops.

Are you running Pride of the Legion? Edit -- never mind...saw it under Kharn.

Looks good, but be wary. The only thing in your army that scores is the tactical squad, as butchers have a rule that makes them non-scoring.

Yea, I was considering replacing them with a regular Cataphractii Terminator squad (which would also be one less unit to buy since they come in B@C ) but that leaves right around 100 pts to fill and I'm not sure how to fill them. Butchers seem, on the face of it, that they might be able to just blitzkrieg through things anyway and I shouldn't need more than 6 turns to go for table?

You'd be surprised. Death Guard tac squads with rad grenades are going to put a dent in them, as will any artillery. Also, some legion specific stuff might give you trouble, like Firedrake termies and Dark Furries.
