Depending on the source, mk 8 armour also incudes the different ankle joint, the two-part shoulder pads and the forearm armour covering the back of the hands. The shoulder pads come in the Command Squad box (the Company Champion is wearing them) and you can use mk 4 arms, I suppose.

I might try looking in on Warhammer Tottenham Court Road after Salute, but they'll probably be sold out.

To be fair, nids came in deathwatch, and the dwarves were pretty much bang on. As meatloaf says, 2 outta 3 ain't bad

A+, would get hyped again.

A+ would correct your posts for you again
D- would hope for more imaginative responses in future. Snarky Internet so and so is so 2014.
Overall rating, C. Could do better, but an adequate start to a flourishing forum relationship of witty back and forth and joviality.
Will give 5 stars or A star if fixed.

We can end this tangent now then ?

Thank you.

Was just hoping to get a kit with all these details in one, instead of trying to get all the bits seperately, as you can buy full kits for other marks.

Well Played, GW...

Lol..

Would be cool if they actually had an official presence at Salute beyond Forgeworld, the new chap they have in charge seems a bit more forward thinking and inclusive so it's not that far out of the question I don't think?

They did something similar last year and released something decent on the same day as Salute causing me to detour to one of the GWs near me to get it. I can't for the life of me remeber what it was?

So you think a deliberate move? Shows a lot of confidence to play that off against the UK's biggest wargaming show, considering these days a lot of people play across systems.

There is a plastic Mark 8. It's the bits and bobs in Tactical Squad/Sternguard Veteran kits.

Mark 8 is just modified Mark 7, enclosing the power cabling on the torso and adding the gorget. Everything outside of that is Mark 7 armor.

No it isn't!

In fact...

Exactly!

Welp. I suppose it was inevitable. We can't go a single God danged month without the marines or their fantasy cousins getting shiny new toys while fully 50% of the armies in the game limp along with dated model lines and pathetic, barely playable codexes.

And next month, codex: red marines! And the month after that, codex: silver marines! A new marine-tastic board game for the Marines only nobody else allowed version of the game!

"Got you, Yugi! Your Rubric Marines can't fall back because I have declared the tertiary kaptaris ka'tah stance two, after the secondary dacatarai ka'tah last turn!"

"So you think, Kaiba! I declared my Thousand Sons the cult of Duplicity, which means all my psykers have access to the Sorcerous Facade power! Furthermore I will spend 8 Cabal Points to invoke Cabbalistic Focus, causing the rubrics to appear behind your custodes! The Vengeance for the Wronged and Sorcerous Fullisade stratagems along with the Malefic Maelstrom infernal pact evoked earlier in the command phase allows me to double their firepower, letting me wound on 2s and 3s!"

"you think it is you who has gotten me, yugi, but it is I who have gotten you! I declare the ever-vigilant stratagem to attack your rubrics with my custodes' ranged weapons, which with the new codex are now DAMAGE 2!!"

"...which leads you straight into my trap, Kaiba, you see I now declare the stratagem Implacable Automata, reducing all damage from your attacks by 1 and triggering my All is Dust special rule!"

The release schedule from now on will probably be 40k marines, something else, 30k marines, something else, fantasy marines, something else, 40k marines etc

Hm, the scanned page use pretty big language:
"Party of the milennia", they will share some big news and have in store events.
Actually sounds like more than just some ltd edition marine.

Im getting paranoid with the fluff advancement in the campaign books these days.

You can currently do everything for MkVIII in plastic except the legs. Even then, quick drilling with a pin vise followed by a dot of putty and you've got the legs covered.

How crazy would it be if GW launched a completely new generation of power armour like star wars did for stormtroopers in the force awakens? And I don't mean just a new kit, like, all SM kits redone with the new armour.

Fluff wise I think a new armour would only come in as part of a new arc or release of a new enemy. History wise you've got a load of marks which are great crusade and heresy era, then in 10000 years mark viiii.Terminator armour has had like 3 versions.

Anyhow I'm going to be booking 16th April off in anticipation

That is...incorrect.

And I doubt we'll be getting a true MKVIII set with this release - but I am looking forward to whatever it is and I hope it isn't an in store exclusive only!

I hear you. I was just venting to my wife last week about why he hasn't been released as of yet. Hopefully the next event will show a WIP at least.

As for this event. I'm all for it. I love all things power armor and if the exclusive mini looks cool it will definitely get me into my local GW store. On the other hand if its like the mini they released when they re-launched the website (having 30 skulls all over.....) ill probably pass.

Honestly, it's only Chaos Marines & Sisters who really have anything resembling a 'dated' model line... Everyone else has a mostly up-to-date range from the mid 2000's and on.
And of those remaining two, at least Sisters still look damned fine.

Chaos Marines are just butt-feth ugly outside of 3-4 kits, and are the only army left in the entire game that's still missing 50% or more of their basic options.

Would indeed be a great time to release an updated, plastic MK VIII kit, or, even better, something entirely new... gasp... MKIX???

Probably just gonna be some dude off one of their big artworks, perhaps the templar off 3rd ed though.

Because it not like these opposing photos were taken at different points in time or anything?

The SM was under the stairs at the FW open day. This is a fact.
He now is not. This is also a fact.
