How is Artificer Armor visually different from any other Power Armor. Looking at some of the characters that we know are in Artificer Armor (Commander Dante, Pedro Kantor, Helbrecht, and Emperor's Champion), the only one that has armor that is distinct from normal Power Armor is Commander Dante. Sanguinary Guard are also in Artificer Armor. But Pedro, Helbrecht, and the EC all look like they are in regular, albeit ornate, Power Armor. And plenty of models are in regular Power Armor that is just as ornate as Pedro or Helbrecht's Artificer Armor.

Background-wise, isn't artificer armour any suit that's been customised by the Chapter artificers? Any of the specialist box sets - Sanguinary Guard are the best example, but to an extent any of the Chapter-specific sets and upgrades sets could be artificer armour. The more blingy bits you use on one model, the more artificer-y it is.
As for this special model, I hope it's the standard bearer from that Rogue Trader cover. Or a Marine in that really original style:

Very good point, I hadn't really considered that tbh. In my minds eye, artificer armour was "just like regular power armour, but with swirly bits on". Don't worry, I'll see myself out...
As for this release, I guess we'll see. I might get white dwarf downloads for the next few weeks just to see if I can spot any hints lol.

I feel like since the Errant is just an retooled version of the Aquilla, that a MK IX armor would have to have new look to make it fell like something other than an Errant variant.
A terrible thought just occured to me. Has GW made a model out of those two waltzing Ultramarines from that old Rogue Trader art? Because I'm banking on that coming sometime between now and the 50th anniversary.

You can piece together snippets in the heresy novels, outcast dead in particular, if I remember correctly in that novel it was found they had been engineered to die after a set amount of time, an almost inbuilt security measure. You get bits of battles etc in the books but little concrete info. Even the death built in thing is from the perspective of one person, it could just be a side effect of creation rather than on purpose.
I doubt any limited model will be plastic, the return on investment is too low for a one off model on sale for a day IMO. Finecast makes more sense OR the model is lifted from a future product, like how the assassins were exclusive until released in blisters.

Seraphicus was in the starter for their biggest product they sell , for a long time. The Captains were more than one day of availability. One day for plastic seems excessive, but I guess we find out soon.

I believe that when it comes to HIPs moulding that there are options when it comes to producing the die, so if you're making a new SM Tac Sqd, for instance, you use a hard metal that takes a long time to machine but will last for hundreds of thousands of castings, equally at the other end there is softer stuff (like aluminum possibly?) that can be machined much more cheaply and quickly, but will only last for fewer casts.
It's quite possible it's cheap enough to do, especially if any losses can be offset against tax as promotional expenses rather than a loss on manufactured product.

Another example was the sprue of Terminator and Ork Nob that was included with every White Dwarf when Assault on Black Reach was released, or the Stormcast Eternal to tie in with Age of Sigmar. Unlike the other plastic miniatures I can think of that came free with White Dwarf (Space Marine for 2nd ed 40k, skinks for 5th ed Warhammer, a Khorne Berserker, a Wizard from the Talisman expansions and a Dark Eldar warrior for 3rd edition 40k) they weren't simply taken from an existing or upcoming proper release. I imagine whatever we get in April will be similar.

Serpahicus was in a limited, finite number of DV boxes iirc.
The Captains may have been available for more than a day, but a month + having to buy a certain amouint through GW's webstore to get even access to them did have a certain limiting effect. I'd be surprised if they sold all of them.

The first Captain(static with the Storm Bolter) was available with orders over around $70 or so.
The second Captain had to be purchased, and you got a code/URL with the first Captain allowing you to purchase a few of them at a time with each code usage.

GW stores, this coming from reliable source so choose to disregard if you will, sell the boxes Saturday and Sunday only while FLGS really will just sell whatever stock they have. Just found out about this tonight but I may be behind the curve already

I'm not getting him in trouble (sorry, I not worth the risk) but certainly one who manages the place of selling these things we speak of I'm 100% confident his information from the direct source itself is true and understood correctly. Of course, only 3 weeks away, is is, until we see for sure? No idea what the price would be though. Thinking now on GW trend this year I can see this making sense. The first box of plastic Space Marines released ' which makes sense with the art teasers, but we'll see. I need to be careful not to get anyone in trouble. Excited rumors is one thing and this group is mature enough to handle news. It may well be only part of the release. Or completely wrong , which would be odd...but it's possible.
I almost posted this over on Warseer and then quickly realized what a disaster that would be.
