Is this the book with the Unending host and The Purge formation?

Where can I buy this. I can't find it on forgeworld website easily.

I was trying to play this army until the TO told me I had to have to book on hand even though I have Battle scribe, and Imperial Armor 13 book which has the 2014 Renegades and Heretics rules which are nearly identical, the rules for the formation from 1D4chan and even people posting it here on dakka.

Probably would help if you were remotely close to the name of the book

It's called Imperial Armour: The Siege of Vraks

They combined all of the volumes into one book sometime back.

Then don't buy any FW books. They are all outdated after a new edition comes out as they are slow AF (or even negligent) to update them with either a new book or pdf updates.

<--- owns nearly every FW book, but is honest to himself about their releases.

You'll probably find this thread very helpful:

Why the hell are they so lazy and reused the volume 6 part 2 cover?

I keep shopping for a discount on amazon but it keeps ending up as Volune 6 part 2 for like $200. Like wtf why are people trying to sell the out dated book at twice the price of the Current $80 Forge world. Why is it so freaking hard to find a used copy at a cheaper price of this Imperial Armor Siege of Vraks?

The darn TO wants to see the book in his hands with the page for the formation because he dont believe me or some thing.

Isnt it already a hassle for me to buy nearly 200 cultists to play this army?

IA:13 is still very up to date.

Vraks is technically IA:5 V2.

Vraks renegades are sometimes called Lost and the Damned. I think in the book they are just called "Renegades and Heretics though"
The book mentions that it is the same exact army as the IA:13 one for the sale of allies and whatnot, think of it as an expansion, like champions of fenris.
Siege of Vraks is heavy nurgle and khorne, with a larger emphasis on hordes and artillery, where IA:13 has all 4 chaos gods and will allow you more demagogue selections for a wider variety of builds.

I own both books, I find myself using Vraks Purge Ordnance tyrant, or IA:13 and choosing the Demagogue based on the superheavy. IA:13 has superior platoons with mark of tzeentch. Vraks has (debated in YMDC) more spawn and zombies.

I waited and waited and camped ebay, amazon, dakka, warseer, miniswap and bartertown for like 6 months. Just buy it from FW, everyone who sells it is going to want like 80-90% MSRP +shipping, so if/when it goes for sale, you might save $10.

Oh, FW also dropped the ball and forgot to put half the equipment in the appendix, so some stuff from IA:13 is in vraks, and some stuff from vraks is in IA:13. Fun, isn't it?

You wont find a used copy because this army had the highest showing at LVO last year, with like, almost half the people bringing R&H, its a fun army. Plus the book is freaking cool, and DKOK is in it.

Not only is it really fun and cool, it also happens to be quite competitive. Any person selling their book is mad. I love Renegades.

OP, if you can't get your hands on the actual book, maybe you could ask the TO if he is okay with a scanned or photographed copy? (just tell him you don't want to drag that huge, heavy book around) It is easy to get a free digital copy...

Darn TO wont allow a scanned PDF. Still cant find a download able pdf of Imperial Armor siege of Vraks 2015. I cant use torrrnts bc ISP will shoot me a Millennium Copy right act fine of $250,000 if i use torrents.

I just have the unfortunate luck to get called out by a buddy of the TO who had a problem with me not owning the book like he has for all his armies. Freaking WAAC. Its not enough they dont allow me to use some of my historical musket models and even necromunda gangers, or scratch built spawns.

I am just really miffed that I have to buy 2 expensive books to play 1 army. Not only that the fluff filled Big Rule books as my opponent pointed out to the TO.

Its just better to quit, leave the flgs tournaments and never play an event again. Maybe things will cool off and I can find some friendly games. Unfortunately most friendly gamers dont want to fight 200 models. So I am in a catch 22.

Pay $200 for both poorly written and shoddy forge world books. Play a few games in the event and Piss people off with moving 200 models. Its just not worth it to a small community because I want to make friends. Its only worth it if I go to LVO or Openbay Area etc... major tournaments where people dont like or care about me and are forced to fight my Unending Host. I have already spent like $400+ on just getting the models.

Or Dont buy the books. Wait for anyone brave enough or happy enough to fight 200 models that revive on a 2+. No takers for the past 3 weeks.

You only need the Siege of Vraks book to play Renegades & Heretics (Vraksian), you get a full army list and the formations. You only need IA:13 if you want to play that Renegade army and/or get the other CSM units.

Doesn't sound like your local scene is very friendly though, to be fair.

at the flgs i have some guy always telling me to f*** off and calling me an a** hole. Then I got some other guy telling me, if you cant afford to buy it then dont play. Then there is this other guy who is always mean mugging me.

Dude.. seriously.. you're getting way too bent out of shape over this. Really.

I'm probably gonna catch flack over saying this but hey, my opinion is just as valid as any other.

It's simple, if you wanna play the army (especially in a tournament setting), buy the rules. If you don't wanna buy the rules, don't play the army.

I can't fault the TO for not allowing PDFs of a still in production and up to date book that is equally available to everyone with Internet. The only feasible exception to this I can see are the limited Run formation sheets that came with specific bundles, and that's touchy still imo.

Is it expensive? Maybe. Is it worth it, that's really up to you.

Plus, someone calling you out on not having your army book does NOT make them a WAAC player either. It's completely fair, and most of the time -expected- especially in a tournament environment that you have an official/accepted form of the rules on hand.

Also, if you think ForgeWorld books are Shoddy and Poorly written, especially the newer ones? The standard GW codexes must give you nightmares.

And 200 models is nothing to an infantry blob Guard or Orks player so.. you're not going to be pissing anyone who matters off with a list like that.

All in all.. take a step back, take a deep breath, figure out how important playing your army the way you want really is to you, pick up the resources to do so, knock some of the chip off your shoulder, and try approaching things with a different view.

Yep, dont have the physcial rules then dont play.

I was hoping to find help finding a used copy for half the price here but the book is hot and wont be discounted much like someone said, at most $10 off.

I dont think I will participate in any Organized tournaments in the future. Especially if my opponents know the rules to my army but get me disqualified for not owning the books so he doesnt have to fight it. Its not even a big tournament. there is only store credit prizes probably less than $200. He really wanted a good shot at winning since he bragged about winning his last 3 matches. what ever.

My apologies if this all came off as whinning.

I got my answer. Buy it from forge world website. Buy the one that looks like volume 6 part 2 but its really all 3 volumes rolled into one. There are no discounts anywhere. If there is a discount, its only $10.

bottom line. Dont want to pay then dont play. What ever.
