Okay so here's my situation.

A guy in our gaming group is fanatically devoted to Tyranids.. to the point I think he may be true to life Genestealer Cultist.. but that's another story.

Anyhow he's on a buggy Crusade to end my Heresy era Fists, and has been chasing down the FW GMCs for the Nids, now.. why this is a 30k issue is, I'm having trouble finding what looks like a reliable way to deal with some of these monstrosities that are Str and T10 with my standard legion force.

And as I don't want to break form with my Fists and can't always rely on my Titans being available due to points, I'm seeking suggestions from other points of view.

Legion Glaive? D3+1 hits per GMC, with Deflagrate to potentially double them, at decent range.

Actually, what rules are you playing? Full Age of Darkness or regular 40k? We need to know how flexible your list can be, plus how you aren't able to field lords of war when he can.

Destroyers with Rad-missiles(I know, they are overpriced...). Or a Siege Breaker with some phosphex-heavy artillery(Quad-guns with phosphex; Medusas...)? Mechanicum-allys with rad-weapons? Difficult to say without more infos.

Oh yeah, without going super-heavy or allied, the Sicaran Venator has that delightful notRailgun and if you have the points, the Cerberus is potentially amazing.

Also, like Ankhalagon said: Rad weapons. Lots and lots of Rad weapons. Anything with Rad Phage you can lay hands on, really.

I stick to my Age of Darkness charts, and depending on the points level I run out of points really quick for things like my Titans, now my Superheavy tanks yeah those will make an appearance for sure.

Rad missiles are a good idea.. I didn't think of that.


He uses the standard 40k formation and cad wildness.

What else can offer to help info wise?

Ok, that's a mistake; either both sides use the AoD charts and limits or neither do. It's really not fair (as well as being against the rules) to do otherwise.

Yeah I know, I don't hold others to it the way I do myself (which is a good way of shooting myself in the foot )

That aside, I'm definitely leaning toward my Glaive and Phosphex, on games I cant weasel my Warhound in.

The problem with the Glaive is, its expensive too. Not as the Warhound, but still.....

Yeah, your Tyranid buddy should really change to the AoD chart if he wants to play against Legions, it's not really fair otherwise.

Aside from that, you'll find rad very good here, and probably some of those quad mortars to deal with hordes.

Oh, yeah, mortars. Medusas with siege shells or whatever they are. The S10 pie plate ones.
The other thing is teleporting Cataphractii with thunder hammers and storm shields, which is still a thing Fists can do in 30k IIRC. Hit the GMC of choice with a neutron laser so it's Concussed, then charge with the smash-y hammer dudes.

Mechanicum allies ftw - calleb decima with macrocarid DT with graviton imploder and irradiation engine sponsons, thallax cohort as compulsory troops and a unit of myrmidon destyructors with irradiation engines.

torrent, fleshbane, AP3 template with rad-phage on relentless dudes with 'preferred enemy (everything)' in a pimped-out landraider should fit the bill nicely!

I like this lol, definitely an excuse to finally expand with some Mechanicum allies that I've been wanting to do.

That aside I think I've figure out a way to get the GMCs taken care of till I can get some mechanicum allies on the field.

A Glaive, 1 or 2 sicaran Venators (for the neutron laser concussion), and a Seige Dreadnought with Claws. The high Str and good weapon skill plus Severing Cut special rules should I'm theory shave wounds off them like ah hot knife through butter. In theory anyway.

Or, as I said, just drown them in in burning, semi-intelligent, lingering templates.....
