Hello all. Curious on how you guys paint your bones (skeleton, skulls, etc.). I'm looking at using Citadel paints only.

My method is nothing fancy. Base Zandri Dust, layer with Screaming Skull, shade with Seraphim Sepia. Go back in with Skull to highlight some raised edges, if necessary.

I like what the sepia does to the color. Makes it look like that bare, dirty bone I picture in my head. Plus, it makes for a quick, easy process. It's not the best picture for an example, but it's the best I've got at the moment.

This ^^

If you're doing a ton of skeletons and want to mix it up a little you could also use agrax wash for a few.

Or I have a Reaper triad I like to use, for a more grey coloured overall bone look.

I remember if you want to give it a lot more depth then you go from a brown like leather then layer it up to bone white.

but bone color plus washes is also good too

This, except I couldn't highlight properly even if my life depended on it so its minus the screaming skull highlight. The results are decent enough.

My method is a no basecoat method - put a GW sepia wash straight onto white undercoat and that's it table top ready. I then like to apply Agrax in the recesses and highlight with Screaming Skull and then Pallid Wytch Flesh

My bone is screaming skull/agrax/screaming skull with white/agrax pooled/highlight.

This, except I use Agrax Earthshade for the wash and sometimes use White Scar for final highlight.

If it's bone ornamentation on elite units? Yeah base/highlight/wash/highlight. Horde of skeleton upon skeleton upon skeleton? They get primer, a drybrush and a wash, ain't nobody got time for that.
