While I love my Angels of Vengeance, I'm turning to my darker side and am starting my own collection of Terroristic Psychopaths.

I'll be starting with a small 500 point force and move up from there.

Hey Guys! Thanks for all the encouragement and support!

For the first 500 points I wanted to include some elements that lend themselves to the Night Lords, while still being somewhat playable.

My FLGS has some house rules, and for 500 pts (Both 30k and 40k) we use the standard force org chart with compulsory 1 HQ and 1 Troops. So with that in mind, this is what I’ve come up with.


HQ - Centurion (80)
Artificer Armor
Nostraman Chainglaive
Trophies of Judgement

Troops:
Legion Tactical Squad (170)
Sgt with Artificer Armor & Chainglaive
Take Bolt Pistols and Chainswords

Legion Tactical Support Squad (135)
5 legionaries with Volkite Chargers
Sgt with Artificer Armor

Fast Attack:
Legion Outrider Squad (115)
Sgt with Chainglaive

with 500 points, you pick a tactic and stick to it, with Night Lords, the Chainglaives make them particularly nasty in assault, and putting the fear causing Centurion in with the Tactical Squad, that puts two Chainglaves in 1 assault (assuming I can get them there) plus the added fun of fear.

Or, I can drop the Artificer Armor on both Sgts and give the tactical squad their bolters back and equip them with the extra cc weapon for the 20 ill save on the armor.

Thoughts?

So after I played around and went through a few test minis (Sorry i don't have pictures) I found a painting scheme that I like and is relatively easy to replicate.

- Prime Black
- Mix 50/50 Abbadon and Leadbelcher on 66% of model, from light source
- Straight Leadbelcher on 33% of model, bringing that third to a bright metallic color

Enter the Air Brush
- Two thin coats of Vallejo Clear Blue. While it's wet it looks brighter than once it dries but it gives a dark metallic armor appearance.

Really happy with how it's turned out. Only bummer is that if I slip up and paint over some of the blue... its a pain in the six to correct haha

Thoughts and comments? - Also, I know the eye lenses aren't done yet, I need to get a new fine detail brush

I haven't! I'm still working on a paint scheme that I like! I also need a better fine detail brush, the one i have is fraying and on it's last legs :(

Boo that sucks, thankfully I don't use my super fine detail brush a lot so it has stayed nice.

Any ideas how you will be basing these guys?

@Ustrello - I like the FSU has based some of his armies in the past using cork board, I think I'll go that route or through some ruins if I can manage it.

Dude, these guys look great. I really like the helmets, are those FW? Thats a cool chainsword too. I read you were looking at cork bases. Im probably doin that again for my Legion Ultramarines. Gonna try a pigment wash, just for kicks. ill let you know how it turns out.

@FSU thanks brother! I had ordered the Anvil chain glaives but really didnt like the look of them, so I took the extended staff/grip, cut off the cross guard on the chainsword and added the staff/grip. I also put together 5 of what will be veterans in Mark III. I'll get a wip of them up soon

Next up is a 5 man support squad with Volkite Chargers. I want to get them painted up so that I can use them in terror squads when I get the force up to 1000 or so points

Started working on my 5 man Support Squad with Volkite Chargers. Did some looking around and saw both blue and red glow on the weapon's coils. I went with red to tie better in with the model. Test mini 1:

Good choice with the red plasma glow, the blue would have certainly gotten lost with all that other surrounding blue.

Been a bit too long before posting up on Dakka! I have finished my 5 man support squad and moved on to my Vets. First guy up I will use as my Centurion / Preator until all my bits arrive.

I've decided to paint my veterans with the original legion icon of a red field and black motif, thoughts?

Also, my vets will get gold trim while the remainder of the legion will use the more common gunmetal.

Very cool. I like the idea of veterans using alternate color schemes. Kinda sets them apart from regular tacticals.
