They said the page count between Core and Human Sphere is similar, but the fluff book this time is the larger of the books. So there's a goodly amount of fluff.

I think in the one Beasts of War video, Carlos said something like 70% of the whole set is fluff.

I've been toying with Haqqislam, although I dislike their background, there is something interesting about fielding a Druze with killer hacking device and Barid with pitcher and killer hacking device. Druze also have EM/ LGL, very uncommon element in N3. Adding the new HI with holoprojector and the list should still have plenty of room for more fun elements. It is rather unfortunate Warmachine MK 3 and new models for Shock Army are also around the corner.

-Loki- wrote:He didn't, at least in the holoprojector video. They said it in a fairly confusing way though (which is par for the course with Carlos). But people that have the book have confirmed it's Patroclus holo 3 that lets you duplicate other models with your echos, not holo 2. Holo 2 hasn't changed much at all aside from receiving Surprise Shot L1.
This is a bit after the event, but Holo1 and Holo2 can be combined so that the original trooper is replaced by three models of a different unit, for example a Kotail pretending to be three Chaksa HMGs or a Sepulchre Knight pretending to be three Combi Rifle Fusiliers.
Holo3 removes the NFB lable so that patroclus can benefit from Mimetism or ODD at the same time, and removes the restrictions on using Holo2 in a Fireteam.

From the N&R thread I've heard that people at Adepticon have already got their copies of HS.
So anyone here have it and want to add some comments/review for the rest of us starved individuals?

I've been pondering how to make the best use of a Fast Panda. If I deploy Fast Panda, however at the start of the order my hacker is not within opposition's hacking area. Once Fast Panda is deployed and is in opponent's hacking area, will the opponent be able to declare ARO - hack to the hacker that deployed Fast Panda?
I believe he can, however I can idle or move, wait for declaration of ARO and then deploy Fast Panda, hence denying him hacking ARO?

Pacific - is there anything specific you want to know?
Knight - 'FastPandas are placed at the Conclusion of the Order.' so there is no Repeater to hack back through until after it would have been possible to declare an ARO.

Oh, nice.
I've figured I need another Naga. Camouflage and hacking seem to be great combo.

Not really, just some general comments on the book!
So I assume this is the previous HS, plus some elements of Campaign: Paradiso (the Tohaa) and the background from HS?
Has there been much added to the background, or any movement forward with it?

The background side I don't know about, but in terms of rules, units etc. it's everything from both books, bar the Campaign System and Spec Ops. Plus any units released via PDF/Army Infinity, like all the recent Tohaa and Steel Phalanx units.

Yup. I almost always field 2 nagas ( minelayer and hacker). Very useful. Especially with the Montesa.

I thought I saw someone (you, perhaps?) Saying something about the Seed-Embryo rules not being in this book as there's no units that use the rule in HS N3. Does that mean that it's been removed from the Shasvastii Seed-Soldiers?

The only Shasvastii units in HSN3 are Noctifers and Sphynxes, thus, there are no units with Seed Embryo in HSN3.
Because SEF has been moved to that book that wasn't ever really called Acheron Falls and blah blah blah.

Ah, you can understand my confusion, then, when IJW said,
IJW wrote:but in terms of rules, units etc. it's everything from both books
My apologies for picking at this; two of my friends play MRRF and SEF, and I can't work out if they'll still need the "get-you-by" additional stats PDF as well as the N3 rulebook and N3 Human Sphere book to have the stats for all their models (not the Sectoral army lists; I know they're not in there, but I'd thought that at least the stats for the models would be).

I think the profile PDFs will be updated when the HS PDF is released. The most up to date profiles will be in the Army 6 too. Your friends should be fine.
I have no idea if CB would actually remove the MRRF and SEF Sectorial Armies from Army Builder. That would be a bone-headed move

Apart from needing three documents to look up unit stats, rather than two.

You could always print your list off Army 6 before you head to the FLGS. Or use something like Mayanet during the game.

Glad I was able to get HSN3 at Adepticon.
I use a tablet for my list in game. But I don't have a data plan for it.
And since Army took away the PDF button, I have to print to PDF on my PC, dropbox or email it, then open/dl it on the tablet before I head to the store.
I don't like Ops: Infinity, and I'm pushing my data limit enough already without burning it up on game night, as much as I like the usefulness of the wiki.

I use my tablet to game with, but it's an android, so syncing pdfs to it is a matter of drag and drop (something Apple never really got around to doing with ipads).
It also does wireless printing - which if the app ever supports printing - will be handy.
As it is, the data on my phone (if I need to tether it for whatever reason) rolls over unused capacity month to month, and I'm sitting on about 8gb unused atm.
I do lists pretty much the same way I always have. Pencil and paper, though with the book or tablet's pdf library. Mainly because all the builders I've used since aleph toolbox required net access, and wifi isn't something guaranteed where I play (cell signal isn't guaranteed, either).
