I'm really digging a lot of the tattered armor aesthetics, like the Fallen Knight and the Sellsword set. They're actually pretty decent, despite being super heavy.
Also, what the heck does the Golden Eagle shield do? It's stability sucks, most of it's resistances are meh.
I have finally beaten my first Lord of Cinders yesterday. I still think it's unfair I had to fight a Bloodborne enemy when I move like a Dark Souls character
Still, the fight was freakin' epic, what an amazing OST.
P.S: feth Catacombs. feth Skeletons.

Abyss Watchers? They're giving me fits. I've ALMOST done it but I got fed up and did the Cathedral instead.

I had more problems with Index Gundyr than the abyss watchers.

I have no shame - I will happily bring in other players to fight a boss, or jump into another player's world to check out a boss before going in myself.
By the way, did anyone else jump in their seat when
Spoiler:
High Lord Wolnir
appeared in the boss room? I was just running forward, when out of the pitch dark, boom! Giant spooky glowing skeleton.

Yeah, he's a massive dick. Having a ton of lightning resist helps though.
For sure, but a seriously awesome boss fight. Definitely my favorite so far. It really gives you that feeling of "I am fighting a goddamn demigod, what am I even doing here"
And yeah, I was stacked decently for lightning resist, but I always had trouble timing out his combos. Get clipped once and panic dodge into the next swing.
It's a PITA, but the boss is worth all of it. He's so fething cool.
Speaking of which, anyone else felt his/her jaw hit the floor after the Catacombs?
Mine did. It's just,... wow

I'm making my push into the final areas tonight of my first playthrough. Recently swapped over from using an Irithyl Rapier to the Sunlight Staight Sword, amazing how the most plain and vanilla looking sword is such an utter beast in the right build.

Yep, I did my entire first play through with nothing but my trusty old heavy broadsword.

I've finally changed from Uchigatana to Black Blade. I just want the most stylish weapon I really want the first covenant rewards from the Watchdogs... Dex sword, it looks amazing.

Finished New Game+1 last night. Definitely less of a difficulty spike from NG to NG+, was a bit disappointed to not see new red phantom enemies, but oh well.
Also, I found this and was amused.

Started an NG+ game to get the third ending. Respecced before going into NG+. Now running around with 50str and a cathedral knight great sword. It's fun when you can kill gundyr in 6 hits.

So, after beating the dancer, I made the happy discovery I could buy her armor AND her weapons. I got both. I'm now made of paper and now I'm in a true "Git Gud" phase where I have to weave and dodge enemy attacks like a bawss if I want to progress. The red cloaked, red-eyed knight right after the dancer? If the dude grabs his sword with both hands he 1-shots me. Yeah, it's not being easy to be stylish and progress

I'm running around with all the Brass Armor and that guy still kicks my ass
I just beat the Abyss Watchers and the Deacons of the Deep.
I never realized just how much I despised those Cathedral Knights until I got to the Church. I don't know if it was just my bad luck, the fact that I enjoy making speedy characters who like to dodge around and try to stab people, or the fact that the Gods of Dark Souls seem to hate me. But every time I faced one of those guys their attacks never seemed to fail to hit me. Every. Single. Time.
But on the bright side I'm slowly managing to collect their armor set.

Yeah, the Cathedral Knights up on the arches can be really annoying. I found a tactic that worked for me though, get close, let them shield bash you and press parry while staggering. Your parry and their next hit will line up perfectly.

I just made them chase me around the arches. They basically ran off the arches trying to chase me down
