Which renders have they shown?

I asked this earlier and didn't receive an answer- anyone know how many actual renders they've shown? Will they just us the video game models, and import them directly to whatever software they use to made physical product? Hopefully with a prayer that enough detail holds?

I answered you; check the bossfight video; they legitly have models in there.

Yes, the same models we've seen of the same demo. That's not what I was asking.

By my count there are 31 different miniatures/sets they haven't got renders of yet- they may not have updated this image yet though. Feel free to correct me.

I really would like to see at least one extra mega boss added to the pledge before this is all done.

With three more Invaders to go after the current one, hopefully that will see us push into another expansion. Preferably more like the Iron Keep one, with a bit of variety in terms of what is included.

Poorly lit photos of my ever- growing collection of completely unrelated models!

When will it ship for backers? Is "April 2017" accurate?

A year is a long time, but clearly they need some lead time...

They said they hope to have it shipped out by Christmas, and that they put April as a "worst case" date to cover themselves.

I still think it will be much later than they estimate.

It's wise to expect 6 months delay, if not a year or more

that way it doesn't hurt so much if they miss their target dates (and if they hit them, hey that's great)

They also added 9 new tiles for the expansions... as a £14 paid add-on -_- So to get the full Darkroot expansion, you first need to buy the expansion itself for £35, then the tiles for £14. It's insane. I've been such a huge supporter all along but I'm wavering now. Between the incredible disappointing "gameplay demo" and the paid tiles, this might just be the nail in the coffin for me if they don't show anything more this last week.

Also Also, the"Gameplay Demo" was exactly what people have been asking for; a demo on how exploring would work. We've known exactly what the combat was like since watching the Boss Fight video.

I don't think anyone asked for a four minute repeat of information we already got in a previous update. Just look at the response the video has gotten on KS, on Facebook etc. There was no new information in that video. What people wanted was people playing the game on video. What CMON does, and what most board game KS do unless they already have provided a rule book. It's not too much to ask surely?

Someone on the BGG forums asked these questions:

-How do mobs work? How are they placed? How do they move and attack and choose priority?
- Where are the different tile layouts. Even without a finished version they could show us a concept.
- How does leveling, stat growth, spending souls, buying weapons/armor work?
- Component information? Card art? Dice?

You're asking forVERY detailed stuff. This board game is not finished yet. So things may change.

None of "your" questions are crucial imho.

Just read that you can pledge £1 and still get everything in the PM. That essentially makes all my complaints moot because I will indeed be able to see gameplay before putting money in. Good on you Steamforged, you'll probably get a ton of money out of me in the end...

How is this detailed stuff? I think it's very basic stuff. The could give us at least a draft. In the first week of the campaign the excuse was that "We are only a few days in the campaign, give them time, they will post it!". We're now in the last week and we have got 7 (2 of them are terrain) new renders since the launch, no real new information how the game works, and only now are they posting social stretch goals.

Will you? Did they say there will be 'real' gameplay before the PM ends?

They aren't like cmon. Cmon Kickstart games that are almost finished already, this one is still in development. They have said they aren't going to release a beta rulebook. I asked earlier this morning and was told they will send out an email to all the backers when the rules are complete updating them about the rules for the game.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
The reason the video seemed to fall so short is because they made it a long time ago and had to wait for golden week to get approval. By that time people had asked for a much different video than they promised and could deliver.

They were merely sharing their disappointment with how this Kickstarter has been run. Some folks expect a bit more when money is on the line.

It's not like it would be very hard to homebrew rules for the game anyways, if they're too shallow for your liking.

Don't worry, those who are questioning things are wise. Many of us have pledge for established campaigns from gamezone, dust games, and palladium (dust, robotech, heroquest 25th). Others have pledged for other games with detailed renders and were very disappointed in the minis which were blobs (zombie 15, sedition wars, etc). Most folks who have backed many campaigns know to ask questions about gameplay, look for real minis or sculpts and not just digital renders, and that an established company means zilch.... especially when paypal and credit card companies have publicly said they will no longer re-imburse folks for failed kickstarter projects or campaigns that didn't totally deliver.

So to those asking questions, good for you. Don't let others bully you or degrade you for asking questions or using your own critical thinking skills. The game looks good, but there has been little info given. A good example of a good campaign in Massive Darkness by Guillotine Games. They have posted pics of the production plastic minis, digital renders of the same (you can see how close the production is), gameplay info, a production box, sample cards, etc. A person knows exactly what they will get and how it will play, and can make an educated decision rather than a pledge on an idea.

This is a very cool game, but I prefer board games to impersonal video games. This game peaked my interest, but I am looking for more info as well. If they don't post more, I will wait until retail or buy a pledge later (I doubt this will be worth as much on ebay as zombicide, kingdom death, etc, with what I have seen).

CMON games are generally mostly complete before it even hits KS. And I don't see any bullying going on here, this is a rather tame KS thread for Dakka and all Dakka KS veterans will know this. Could this KS be handled better? Probably, but we will never know and it has done fantastic as the current total suggests. I say well done to Steamforged Games (who also make the fantastic and successful game called Guildball, which was also funded through KS) so far for what you have achieved.

They're so far over their target, and their stretch goals are adding so much to the project, this is looking like another Conan the Barbarian. Conan is looking like it will take 2 years from Kickstarter close to shipping, and they were at least providing 90% of the renders and some resin examples. Might as well plan on getting this sometime in 2018.

Yep. If you're looking for a KS campaign run as well as CMON, Stonemaier Games, Reaper, MegaMiniatures, etc., back *those* companies' KS, not SFG's. Considering that you can easily drop over $1200 per year on games from the best-run KS companies, you're not missing much if you don't back a KS that doesn't meet the requirements these companies do. You'll pay a higher price at retail, but you won't be taking the risk that other backers are taking -- and incomplete information, such as not enough gameplay or miniature information, is risk. Given that SFG has run a KS already, and has designed the well-accepted Guild Ball game, I think anyone backing this project and a fan of the DS franchise will be happy enough with it. Anyone *not* looking for a Dark Souls game (eg. just looking for a dungeoncrawler) might as well go look for another game (eg. CMON's Massive Darkness KS) and wait for the retail reviews.

Hey Unkindled,

We have now reached £3,500,000...

PRAISE THE SUN-ARIO!

The Steamforged Games Design Team have been putting their heads together and have decided to celebrate the record-breaking success of this Kickstarter project (and due to popularity during this Kickstarter) by confirming the Core Game will additionally come with a FREE scenario-driven Campaign Mode where your level of success would continue on from one game to another.

We’re pretty excited about this, but what makes this even more exciting is that we want to work with you guys. We want to utilise our amazing backer community, to make these scenarios as intriguing and challenging as possible.

So let’s hear your ideas about what would be cool to do in the comments and via our dedicated email campaign@steamforged.com

We want to hear your ideas for the flavour/tone/setting of your scenarios. Then let us know what mini, main and mega bosses would feature. What enemies, invaders, summons and challenges would be met along the way along with what treasure, weapons and armour could be found.

So be creative and let us know what you think - this is your opportunity to help shape part of the project you have supported and brought to life! We make the game, but you make it happen.

Praise The SUN-ario \[T]/

Alright guys I'm pledged at 158 and here is my thinking:

80 - basic game + monkey load of unlocks

28 - Old Iron King because the Iron Keep needs a super boss (though I'm thinking Smelter Demon that comes with it might be sufficient)

35 - darkroot basin expansion looks like an awesome deal + SIF!

15 - tiles for darkroot basin and iron keep (otherwise you will be using the expansions on the basic game tiles)

I'm torn about the Gaping Dragon - just doesn't seem to make sense to get him if you don't have the sewer expansion leading down to him (same with the other bosses, would only get if I had the expansion for their areas)

Thoughts + what are you guys doing? Only like 3 hours left!

I find it incredibly annoying. I cancelled my early bird pledge on the understanding that there would be no campaign mode in this game (in fact, I'm pretty certain one of the heads of Steamforged actually disparaged dungeon-crawling campaign games in one of his responses to backers).
