I canceled my EB too. A shame, I was really excited about this and have felt bothered by it since it started. Never a good sign when my Kickstarter sense starts tingling.

At the least I'll have something to look forward to picking up in store if it turns out to be a success (gameplay- wise, not fund raising- wise).

I had planned to get the Darkroot Basin expansion at retail regardless. Need Sif and Artorias.

I'm not looking to change your mind but hear me out.

2 of my favorite board games of all time were Heroes Quest and Talisman. I spent many evenings enjoying both games immensely with family/a group of friends.

Neither of them are RPG games but you would be amazed at how fun they are anyway and how involved people get in them.

Dark souls takes a bit from both of those games.

It will have the game to game campaign aspect from Heroes Quest. But without the need of a DM which is interesting - the random factor of the tiles and cards takes care of that for you so everyone gets to be a player.

You will get cards for items like in Talisman, but everything is represented by awesome miniatures instead of pictures on cards like Talisman did.

I'm telling you from experience, when you sit down to play this game it will feel like an rpg and people will get into the characters.

Ok I dropped my pledge to 130 because...I think the Smelter Demon is a sufficient boss for the Iron Keep so I'm at what I think is the perfect pledge. 130 for the basic game + stretch goals +darkroot basin + basin/iron keep tiles.

Thoughts?

Its the darkroot basin + base game for me.

You might want to add 15 for the basin/iron keep tiles - it dosn't look like the expansions come with tiles so you will be playing those expansions on the base game tiles.

I don't REALLY see that as a big problem to be honest. Yes, the art is probably quite nice, but in the end you pay 15 pounds for a bit of variety..

I'm desperately trying to stop myself from adding the gaping dragon or iron king at the last minute.

28 pounds still is quite a lot of money for "just" a board game miniature. It might be massive and stuff,but still just a single miniature I cannot really use for anything else.

Yes, and ... I'm pretty sure the base game, stretch goals, and darkroot basin are going to take me years to paint already.

Went in for core + darkroot + tiles, myself, with two Mega-Boss add-ons - Four Kings for sure, and probably either Black Dragon Kalameet or Asylum Demon (mostly depends on how rad the sculpt for AD is). It's a bit more than I was originally intending to spend, but I'm getting....126?...models for £186 - which is a silly good deal. Not to mention the actual game itself.

So, two models from the npc helper box have notbeen unlocked..
Will the box still be released?

I've gone for base, darkroot+tiles and kalameet. Might add 4kings during the pledge manager.

Ronin, they have said that they've added all the stretch goals up to 4m which covers all of the expansions that have been shown so far.

Yep, they just said everything up to 4,000,000 auto unlocked.
