In the last Tournament in my local club. One of my friend run "bully boyz" formation, support by the special character Biker Warboss, Deffkopta, Tank busters in gun wagons, one Battle Wagons, and VSG.
He slaughtered one " OP" Eldar army, destroyed my Skyhammer, and pull up a draw against a second Eldar player which is a good proof of the capability of such a list, although it need mastery in tactics and deep understanding of the game.

A different approach:
Ork deathstar:
(1850 point list)
MOGROK FORMATION
- Warboss + Mega armor + Lucky stikk + bosspole
- Big Mek (Mogrok) + mega armor + thinking capp + combi skorcha
- Big Mek + Bike + big choppa + combi skorcha
- Big Mek + Bike + big choppa + combi skorcha
- Weirdboy + level 2 upgrade
THRAKA DETACHMENT
- Big Mek + Bike + big choppa + combi skorcha + Big Kustom Force Field (4+ inv)
- Warboss + bike + power claw + combi skorcha + Big bosspole (fearless)
- 10 grots + runtherd
- 5 commando's
ORK HORDE DETACHMENT
- Weirdboy + level 2 upgrade
- Weirdboy + level 2 upgrade
- Painboy + bike + 3 grot orderly
- 10 grots + runtherd
- 10 grots + runtherd
- 10 grots + runtherd
- 15 loota's
- Defence line
CAD
- Weirdboy + level 2 upgrade
- Weirdboy + level 2 upgrade

- 10 grots + runtherd
CAD
- Weirdboy + level 2 upgrade
- Weirdboy + level 2 upgrade
- 10 grots + runtherd
- 10 grots + runtherd
- Mogrok gives d3 units grots outflank + acute senses
- All characters join the loota's.
- Weirdboyz go full Daemonology sanctic powers
- Mega armor warboss on the front with a reroll 2+/3+ (sanctuary)
- weirdboyz can teleport closer (or away) and give the unit hammerhead + force.
- Bikes can also detach at any time.
- loot'as can shoot after teleport (slow and purposeful).
- its a big unit for teleport but its a great way te rearrange the models when you deep strike.
Its to bad that most dutch tournaments use the ITC/max 3 detachment rules because i really wanna play this for real...

I'm thinking of trukk bully boyz with VSG and masque+daemonettes. Masque is supposed to help against deathstars and bully boyz will deal with the rest. They'll be backed up by boyz, koptas, lootas and lobbas.

Blitz Brigade with Bully Boyz in 1st, 3rd, and 5th BW's; a unit of Burnas in the 2nd BW and a unit of Tankbustas in the 4th. Painboyz with the Burnas and Tankbustas. Grots for troops. 2000 points. Wagons have 4 Rokkits, Kannon, and RR.
12" scout, guaranteed 2nd turn charge. Or wait and shoot with your 40 Rokkits, or 55 if you take a second unit of TB's instead of Burnas.
Good chance of getting FB with TB so an extra point right from the start.

Well... i think orks have to have the Stompa for sure. there are just too many reasons to like it and the general slant of Tau and Eldar forces sort of forces the issue a little.
I think you need an escort unit for the Stompa to stop the really dangerous melee units (like Fire Warriiors with EMP or other low cost, high return Super Heavy killers) from getting to it.
My experience with the Stompa is as its opponent and it adds a lot to the force. One can easily debate how much you want to upgrae those and what not, but it's presence as a necessity seems really beyond doubt competitively speaking.
The Wraithknight board control problem and the Imperial Knights couple to create a bad scene for orks.
And I never spell his name right so i wont try, but the Biker Commander deathstar is really strong for orks so that could form the Gork (or it is mork) to the Stompas Mork (or is it Gork?)
those two elements seem staples in a competitive Ork list. I am one who beleives in the reality that there are a lot of ways to win besides JUST smashing a dudes face in. Having said that... smashing a guys face in works. So do that.

Out of line of sight wyverns, thunder fire cannons, other indirect fire will center on that fearless banner. If you are going to spend that much you need grotsnik for 2nd fearless.

I could remove a weirdboy and upgrade the painboy for this but I dont think its needed but I will test this. This list is all about smart model placement and knowing how to devide the shooting damage. If the fearless banner keep's base to base with the lucky stick mega armor warboss it can still 'look out sir' incoming hits. keeping them both in the back, 2 inch apart its almost impossible to kill off the fearless banner with inderect fire thats not S8 and/or ap 2.

I would think there is a way to run this type of list. You put the MA BM with the Lootas to confer SnP. If I were to make a reduction in firepower it would be two get another CAD with two painboyz to go with Tankbustas. Another way to possibly play it is to take the Ork formation with 3 HQ chioces and put a big mek with KFF in a squad of Lobba's to give the BW's a turn one spot to get a 5++ from if you don't get your first turn Alpha strike.
Also, nice thing about this type of list is keeps turn one from feeling like it takes forever.

I don't know if it has been touched on yet in this thread. But PLEASE STOP saying the greentide no longer exists. It 100% still exists. GW emailed pdf versions of the new additions ( the great waaghband and the flyer formations) to the supplement to add to the physical copies of the first version people had. This means that for some people the green tide does still exist myself included.

I apologies but I have never heard or seen of this and now I'm VERY excited! Haha, is there any chance you could post a link to the PDF file?

Wait what do you mean for some people? Either they still have support for it in the new publication or they don't. It's pretty black and white.
If GW put out an update or an addendum to that new supplement, great. I would love to keep seeing Green Tide on the table. But I would like to see some proof as well.

It isn't black and white and No it didn't apply to everyone because GW was still trying to make the money of that poor release. I sent them a couple of nasty emails virtually calling this release criminal. I have the warlord edition of the codex which came with the ghazghkull supplement. I also own hour of the wolf and sanctus reach. The fact that they would try to charge me again for 8 new pages didn't make me happy. They sent me an email with the new inclusions and told me that it can go inside my previous edition. Because of this my edition of the book is the same as before but with a few extra pages at the back end now. This is why most people think it is invalid. People who got started after this release will not have a copy of the greentide on hand.
Now when I figure out how to add a screenshot to this website I will add a screenshot of the email but I am not going to post the pdf. They took it on good faith that I owned the previous copies when they sent it to me.

Ok I understand what you mean now. Thank you for clarifying.
That being said, GW sending you an email saying "of course you can still use the units you paid us money for" doesn't equate to permission to use them in a tournament. If you played me on any night at a FLGS, I would happily allow you to play them. I think that this is true for a lot of players, and if I recall correctly, Frontline Gaming said that there may be a vote to see if people want to see Green Tide on the table at a tournament still for tournaments that use the ITC format. However, I would not go so far as to say it is your right to use those rules, any more than it is my right to use the 4th edition tyranid codex. Oh, how I wish I could. But the general rule is that when new rules appear (or old rules disappear in a new publication) that we live with them, for better or for worse.
Just because you sent GW an email doesn't change whether or not the formation is able to be used. Either it is still supported by GW or it isn't, and that is up to the tournament organizer and/or the attendees to decide (again, referring to Frontline Gaming's rules by popular vote process for the ITC, though I'm sure some other tournament formats do something similar). And it does have to be all for everyone or none for anyone. Why could you run the formation but I can't in my Ork army?

Does anyone have any suggestions on what could make orks better overall?
such as, mob rule results of 1 stay the same, and instead of 2-3 for 10 or less, make it 2-4 and then 5-6 is for 10+ models.
and then obviously have it do D3 hits instead of D6.
maybe add the fact that opponents HAVE to accept challenges when the rules form the decurion is used to challenge opponents just to make it better,
give orks fleet on Waagh turn.
Ideas?

That is an excellent point! Thanks! I usually run three PK Manz and two Killsaws per bullyBoy mob. Running TB's instead of Burnas will save me 45 points so just enough to give them all Combi Skorchas!

Well, last year this list placed 1st at SoS.
Couple highlights include a massive bikestar, 3x min bike units and 2x gretchin for objectives, and 5x tankbustas in trukks.
It's obvious tankbustas might be the best unit in the dex, and bikes are about as survivable as orks get. I've made a similar list myself, inspired by this one but with a little more oomph in CC.
I've been thinking these days too a loota/tankbusta heavy list with a "looted" imperial strongpoint with a bunch of ammo dumps would be pretty scary.
