So I am looking for some advice on a conversion idea, but I need to dredge up a lot of information on models in jump packs.

So of all models, of all manufacturers and sources, what are some of the best models for jump pack individuals? Corax from FW is a high one up there, and might work for my needs, but I'd love more insight.

There is the standard Loyalist pattern that comes with Assault Marines and Vanguard Veterans. It is your basic, no frills Jump Pack. I prefer this one as it has two big thrusters. The majority of my characters that get Jump Packs get this one.

There is also the Sanguinary Guard pattern. It has one large thruster and two smaller thrusters sticking out the side. This one often comes with a pair of wings, but that isn't a requirement. Less visually striking since it is smaller. Allegedly the more advanced version though.

Lastly, there Is the version that Chaos Raptors wear. Visually, they look like two large turbines stuck to the model's back. They are pretty neat looking. You can get them Chaos-free from Forgeworld.

If you can get your hands on it, the old metal Raptors Jump Pack was the most awesome one. None of that extra frilly wings crap like the Sang Guard or the new Chaplain, and didn't look like the boring vanilla SM pack. I think the only example of that jump pack left is the Raptor Lord.

Basically that jump pack, along with the raptor's unique armor, made them look like vicious birds of prey without dipping into the Spikey Marine aesthetic. Shame they decided to end that line though.

Hell, I'm not that bothered by the Stormraven. Why? Because, as it stands right now, it's "limited use".When it's shoehorned in to the Codex: Space Marines, then yeah. I'll be irked.

I personally think the best looking jump pack is the Ork storm boys one. Nothing like strapping a large rokkit to your back and having a big red go button on your belt.

However, I do like the sanguinary guard one as long as you leave the wings off. Hate the wings.

The Lord Executioner is a nice looking model.

Vanguard Vets box is full of neat stuff, might be worth checking out the sprues. Depends a lot on what your goal is.

Updated the thread title because I want to expand this discussion.

So what I want to do is a very custom Canoness conversion. Yeah, they don't have jump packs, but I don't care all that much, it will still look very cool, and maybe someday they will be able to take them (I plan on putting her with a unit of Flying Pigs from Frozen Hell, but hey... )

So now that I have some ideas for packs, how about some model that can convert or pose properly. My favorite jump pack-using model by far is Corax, and while it may be near heresy to use his model for conversions, I'm worried about the size. Is the Corax model (just of Corax, I know his scenic base adds a ton) huge?

I would imagine the Primarch models are all a bit big for that sort of thing.

Personally, I think the jump pack that comes with the new-ish BA Chaplain is awesome. If I could just get that bit on it's own...

@Quanar. I'm considering putting that jump pack on the Reclusiam/Space Marine Heroes chaplain for my Blood Ravens chaplain.

raptors or sang guard for human stuff, otherwise the orks simplicity wins out. heck mine are just boys with bombs from the dakka jet box magnetized to them.

I have this model and the Finecast Jump Pack Chaplain. There is no contest as to which one is cooler. I love the wings on this one a lot more than the regular Sanguinary Guard Jump Pack. I wish I could get a hold of more of that particular Jump Pack to put on more Blood Angels.

Frankly, this is the coolest looking jump pack GW have ever produced;
