Ello party people.
Something a little different but wonder where everyone else puts those grenades, pouches and knives on their marines.
there are almost no good examples.
I really hate looking at marines with nothing on them.

I have seen pouches and grenades placed on the shoulder pads. I've also seen knives placed parallel to the ground on the back of the belt.

Mostly I put pouches on belts, normally on the back/sides. Sometimes I put them on the side of the lower leg.
Genades can go in a number of places. Normally on the leg, either up on the belt, or on the side of the leg above the knee.
Purity seals go any and everywhere.

For pouches, any more i end up making them myself with greenstuff, they end up fitting so much more neatly to the model and look really good.

Not sure if this helps but here's how I place mine:
I tend to put the pouches on the rear left-hand side of the belt as (being right handed) that would be the hand I would use to insert a fresh magazine into a weapon. Similarly, I tend to put grenades on the front left-hand side as I would grip it with the right, pull the pin with the left and throw with the right. I tend to put combat knives on the left hip as, again, I would draw the blade across the body with the right hand. For secondary weapons - I put bolt pistols on the left hip, with the handle pointed forwards so I would draw it similar to a blade (Alternatively you could put it on the right with the handle pointed back, as it would then be drawn like a cowboy's 'quick draw'.). Finally, I put bolters or melta bombs in the small of the back to be drawn from behind with the right hand.
Call it OCD, but I like there to be the element of realism. I like to be able to look at a mini and see the reasoning behind each choice of design. Anyway, hope this helps somewhat

I often put the pouches around the leg area, near the foot. Allows for a bit more room to attach the torso and arms, and doesn't fall off easily (except the larger pouches). I've also seen the knives on a model's pauldrons as well, and while it looks a bit... odd, it's not too distracting. Belts could also work too. You could even put knives there if they were in a horizontal position. If you're going to do that however, be aware how you want to position the arms, so that whatever you add to the belt does not block the arms from being placed properly.

I like the attention to detail, but I'm just going to be "That guy" and slip it in that all Marines are ambidexterous.

@Deadshot - Possibly. I've read accounts where marines favour certain hands for certain weapons, but I suppose favouring a particular hand is not the same as being technically ambidextrous. In any case, the way I do it is just because I'm not a 7ft genetically engineered superhuman warrior. It's just because that's the way it makes sense to me
@queen_annes_revenge - I like the 'bandolier' look as well! I'm not sure how practical it would be for the marine, but it certainly lets you know who the Grenadier of the squad is

IMHO, I'd put the long blade on the hip. I've seen the combat blades put on the pauldron, between the torso and power pack and in the small of the back, but if the blade is any longer than the combat blade you'd never be able to draw it. For me, the only 'realistic' place to put it would be on the hip.

Also (hard to see there) but I like to put holstered pistols or the long spare bolter clip pouches along the hip

The long blades from BaC have little indents on them made to hang from the bottom of the powerpack:
You do need to be careful how you line up the torsos with the legs, otherwise the tip of the sword will hit the lower leg.

I left a lot of that off my stuff so far, as I also couldn't figure out where to put it all exactly. Great thread!

call me plain, but: pouches on the side or rear on belt level. bolt pistols in similar locations. Beyond that and I think it starts to look silly (though certain locations can pull it off, like a bolt pistol lower on the leg, etc.)
