I just pre-ordered Imperial Knights: Renegade. The deal is just too good to pass up if you are considering playing IK. I've always been a fluffy player (and it's a slow day at work), so I've been coming up with my own House. Renegade comes with two kits which I plan to turn into a Warden and a Paladin, then I will pick up another kit to make a Crusader. I'm having some trouble deciding on what to name my knights, though, so I thought I'd crowd source it! I'll use the top three names (I reserve the right to change my mind, of course).

I came up with some house traits using. 1d4chan's Imperial Knight House Creation Table. Here is what I have so far:

Name: House Janis

Colors: Blue, Silver, Godl

What is the Nature of our Vow?: Standing Force - "And these stars are ours to defend."

House's First Contact with the Imperium: Great Crusade (I actually plan to use this army more for 30k than 40k)

Who is our direct Sovereign?: Imperium - The House is loyal to the Imperium, and its Knights wear the Imperial Aquila with pride.

Succession Laws. Who inherits the Knight Titan and titles?: Primogeniture: All titles and Knights are given to the eldest eligible child, who may distribute them as necessary (hopefully they're not in diapers!).

Gender laws for Inheritance: Agnatic-Cognatic - Only males are eligible, unless no suitable males exist, in which case females are also eligible.

Amount of Ceremony: Reasonable - As with much of the Imperium, ritual guides most aspects of life, within reasonable limits.

House Demeanour: Purity Above All

House Flaw: Honour Any Oath - The House is obsessed with honouring any and every oath, even when it would lead to the destruction of the House. They are often particularly brash. (The house swore an oath of service to both the Imperium, and to the Thousand Sons Legion)

Figure of Legend: A mighty Knight who crusaded with the Emperor himself

Deeds of Legend: The individual was a stalwart enemy of the servants of Chaos, and slew a Daemon Prince.

Size of our Domain: Sizable, several star systems

Homeworld: Irion Secundus - Civilised World

Homeworld Terrain: Temperate

Homeworld Rule: Stewardship - "Hi, Planetary Governor? It's me, the Baron. Just calling you to remind you that I outrank you, even if I don't do anything."

House Hierarchy: Flexible

Combat doctrine: Planet Strike Vanguard

Preferred Knight variant: Knight Warden

Specialty restrictions (units the house has few of or cannot field): Knight Castellan

House Beliefs: Code of Chivalry - "Duty is honor, and our duty is to protect the innocent and care for the weak."

House Combat Strength: Under Strength: The House is recovering from a defeat or accident that occurred several decades ago, or has recently suffered heavy, but not irrecoverable losses. It is probably at a minimum of half strength, and should return to nominal strength within several decades. Connections with the Mechanicus may accelerate this process. (Aided the Blood Ravens in the Aurelia Campaigns. Didn't fair much better than the Magpies)

House Allies: Adeptus Astartes (Blood Ravens)

House Enemies: Chaos Space Marines (Black Legion)
