Can anyone confirm where the tyrants go in the force organization chart? Pretty sure i have the updated version of AoD legions, but pg 19 at the top states they are an Elite and the unit entry on pg 20 has the Heavy Support symbol.

yep looking at them now, they are Heavy support, I suppose GW didn't want Pride Iron Warriors spamming tyrants

Yeah heavy unfortunately. That slot is now very crowded! Between havocs, tyrants, scorpion, artillery and Vindicators...

After seeing the iron circle I chose iron warriors as my legion.
Seeing this makes me bummed.
Are their no ROW that add extra heavies?

There is the 'Hammer of Olympia', but people still have to choose between 6-7 good Heavy Support choices.

I believe Iron Circle is a Elite choice so you should be fine.

<Dynasty> ~10500pts
War Coven of the Coruscating Gaze ~3000pts
Thrice-Damned Plague Corps ~3250pts
Admech (TBN) ~3500pts +30k Bots and Ulator

IW can have 4 with their Hammer Of Olympia ROW, but requiring 3 troops makes it dificult to fit.

The bummer was that my list was going to use alot of terminators, Iron Havocs and predator with plasma. I may drop the second iron havoc squad now

Must be a hangover from the previous book in the main section then, got me excited!

Sucks that our 2 main special units are fighting over 3 spaces. Once you put in the artillery squadron that's your lot.Really wish all the legion specific terminators could be taken as retinue!

Do Pride of the Legion. As many terminators you want, 2 havoc squads, and a plasma predator.

But no tyrants siege terminators.

Ok so the options are Hammer of Olympia, gets you +1 heavy support, onslaught FOC which requires minimum 1 troop and max 3, also gets you +1 heavy support slot, but you cannot have the first turn, but can try to seize the iniciative still.

if these 2 work together, then that's 5 HS slots available to you.

Also using pride can still net you 3 cata sqauds and 3 tyrant sqauds, that's quite fluffy, throw the cata sqauds into land raiders or assault rams, and have a dedicated breaching force.

Again, tyrants can't be troops in a PoTL force anymore because they're not an elite. Termi heavy can still work though, just take Golg!

I thought they couldn't be troops before either because they are not the Legion Terminator Squad or Legion Veteran Tactical Squad entry?

Merely having TDA in your profile is not enough.

I believe you are correct. From the FW FAQ:

Q: In the case of the ‘Pride of the Legion’ Rite of War, Veteran and Terminator squads are
Troops choices in the force; could you clarify the exact squads which fall into these categories?

A: In this case specifically this means Veteran Tactical squads and Legion Terminator squads only, so
Justaerin and Deathshroud Terminators are not included in this. Any Legion-specific units in future
Horus Heresy books which do qualify for this Rite of War will have this fact explicitly stated in their
unit description.

That was the FAQ for Betrayal, the updated Rite in the Crusade Army List book however explicitly states that legion-specific Elite Terminators are also included.

But not Gal Vorbak even though our Pride of the Legion bundle was literally Gal Vorbak + Lorgar.

To be honest your best bet is to take Erasmus Golg and that gives you legion termies as troops, take three 5 man shooty termie squads and put golg in one of them as he then gives that one hammer of wrath. Ive used 2 indomitus and one cata with golg in it. Its a cheap way of getting your trrops in and then you can add tyrants a havoc squad a arty squad and have one left over for thudd guns.

Still a bummer though. I might focus with dreads as my heavy hitters now.
