A lot of polls go out about which armies people own but are there any armies you have never faced?

For me there is;
Dark Eldar, there was a guy who played them when I first started playing but he stopped soon after;
Eldar, I have played against a Tau army with a wraithknight stapled on but never a full Eldar army;
Adeptus Sororitas, never even seen this army;
Cult Mechanicus, once again never even seen one.

And you?

I've never faced Sisters of battle, mainly because people around me (and including me) are too poor to afford the models. My armies have otherwise had a very long stick shoved up their rear armor by every other army.

Cult Mech and Skitari are the only things I haven't encountered from the list. Technically I played against Sisters as they where an tiny ally detachment for a Dark Eldar list.

I've not faced Sisters, Grey Knights/Inquisition, Chaos Daemons (faced Khorne Daemonkin, which are not on the list by the way), or any of the newer Imperial armies (Knights, the 3 Ad-Mechs, and Tempestus).

Biggest shock though....from Rogue Trader thru 7th Edition, I've never faced a Blood Angels army. I never knew anybody that actually played one. I've known a few who started one, but never actually finished it enough to play (or they switched them to Codex Marines).

Surprisingly, I have never faced Orks as an opponent. I've only ever used them.

I've never faces Sororitas or Harlequins. I've faced everybody else (at least allies) at least twice. I've seen Sororitas played (very well painted ones at that!) but I've never faced them, and I've never even seen Harlequins played around here. Which is sad, because the models are cool!

SoB, Inquisition, and Harlies. However, there are some I'd like to face more often and some I'd like to never fight again

Perhaps the next poll could be which armies do you find the most/least fun to play against.

I never faced:
Sisters of Battle.
Tyranids(Played them myself, and are gone the way of the dodo.).
Mechanicum, because I play them myself in all three variants.
Inquisition.
Milithingy Tempestus.
Codex Bloodthirster(KdK).
Knights(Although, we would have enough in the club).
Deamons(See Tyranids).
Squats.

I don't think I've ever played against a solo Tempestus or Inquisition list, but I have faced the armies before.

I've played against Necrons once, never played against AdMech, Harlequins or CSM. And the AdMech really is a let down because there's someone in my group that plays them, but through twists of fate, any time we get a game in he has his Daemons or he's in Turn 1 of another game when I show up to the store and I do a Magic thing for the evening instead of wait around.

Orks will win that poll pretty easily. They don't have cheese, nor allies to make them better. Also, lot's of bodies to kill and for the Ork player, lot's of dice to roll.

Heh, I can pretty much tick the lot. I only really play against one friend, so I've only ever fought what he has / had - BA / DA / SM / GK / IG.

I think an interesting similar poll would be a "learning curve to play against" so to speak. I would vote daemons as the army that you have to either play as a few times or play against many times to learn how to beat it.

I haven't played against any of the Mechanicus armies, Harlies, Dark Angels, MT, Inquisition or Imperial Guard. Oh, Khorne Daemonkin is another army I haven't played against.

I still find it weird that I haven't faced an IG army, even after 12+ years of on and off 40k. Nobody seems to play them here at the LGS, and even the odd time someone brings them to a tournament from out of town or something I don`t get matched up against them. I mean, I have played against Sisters but not IG? Weird.

I've never faced Harlequins, SoB, KDK, or Dark Eldar. They're just not played a lot around here. KDK I'm gonna play in not too long though.

This is an interesting poll. Perhaps a follow-up could be which armies that you have faced in the last 3 years? I have been in the game so long that I have against every army multiple times, but there are definitely armies that have become far more rare to see in the last couple years in my area.

I've never faced a straight up Sororitas army or Harlequins. I'm guessing because sisters are just too expensive to run for most folks in my group (s) and Harlequins are out of their comfort zone (i.e. armies that they're familiar with). I haven't played against the data slate inquisition, but I've played against lists out of the 5th GK dex that were almost pure inquisition and they were pretty damn nasty. I think I only had 3 or 4 wins against them out of around 10-15 games.

Edit: Forgot that surprisingly I have never faced a pure Demon army either. I've played armies with sisters or dens as allies but never one of them as a stand alone army.

I've not faced a pure Harlequin force or a pure Cult Mechanicus. That's about it though.

No Tempestus, Mechanicum/Skiitari or Black Templars. But we have every faction in our Gaming group, so it's just a matter of time.
