Am I permitted to put a Titan on a base? As far as I know, you are supposed to put models on the base they were supplied with, but Marines shifting to 32mm (despite not all MEQ kits being so updated) makes me doubt, and putting down such a huge model without the support of a base seems like asking for your model (which is the price of a cheap car) to fall over and break.

Consider this a thread mostly for HYWPI - would you be alright with a Titan on a non-supplied base and how big do you think it should be?

Titans do not come with a base, so you fall to the second part of the statement in the rulebook to place it on a base appropriate for the model.

So yes you can put it on a base, just be reasonable about it.

PS the rules "assume" the model is on the base supplied with it, it does not say you MUST be on the supplied base.

There are inherent advantages and disadvantages to basing large models, such as footprint on the table and measuring. GMC's gain an advantage over Walkers in they have large bases, for instance. I would advise to go for stability and aesthetics over playability.

Agreed 100%

When you get to the size of games where you are playing with titans that do not come with bases, you stop caring about winning or losing, and just start caring about having fun. I've seen all sorts of bases, for titans. From big round ones, to squares, to strange oblong ones that are specifically for balance and nothing else. No one ever bats an eye, minis are moved in the are in the way, the game goes on. Your main concern should be about the lively hood of your investment. You don't want it to fall over and break, or worse, fall over and break other peoples stuff. Make sure it is stable, whatever it takes. Your opponents will thank you.
