Well, the FSA system combines some of the functionality of the gunnery table into the ship stats, and the basic system is 4+ to hit againt the damage rating/critical rating, minus the shield saving throws. Not a bad system, though it does make the ship stats look a little intimidating at time with the four range columns and multiple weapon systems.
Really, I'm happy as long as there's no parallel to 40k's hit->wound->save nonsense. I thoroughly enjoy BFGs straight hit=damage.
Regardless, I don't think we'll be seeing BFG any time soon by the looks of it. Plenty of time to enjoy the current game, and even experiment with BFG:R.

Not in the slightest. I would be interested if they simply converted the Eldar metal to plastic, because those escorts are fiddly, but would be super easy in plastic.

they'll need some time to get new minis for the ships but given the sucess of BFG:A that might light a fire under GW

I'd like to see special bases that show firing arcs as well as counters for hull and shield points.

No for BFG, but I would like to see Adeptus Titanicus scaled up slightly- Warhound the size of a Centurion, Reaver the size of a Dreadnought, Warlord the size of a Dreadknight, and Emperor sized and priced like a 40K knight. Then plastic knights sized like PA marines (kind of like the old plastic ones, but more detailed.

If my current cruiser is 4" long and designed to work with the current rules, you're not going to be allowed to play with your 2 1/2 inch cruiser in the new game.
Given that you don't measure to the model in BFG why would it matter if one player had 4" cruisers and the other had 2" cruisers?

You're assuming that rule stays consistent. Or that base sizes stay consistent. Those are both bad assumptions. And even if we do decide to live in that fantasy land, how bad does that game look with hand-sized models fighting against finger-sized models? Might as well play Epic with a 28mm space marine on an Epic infantry stand. That'd look sweet, right?

True, the measuring rules might change.
But fixing bases is trivial and just because mixing new and old models doesn't look the best it doesn't mean "you're not going to be allowed to play" with your old fleet.

Would a slight resize be any different then the jump from RTBO1/2nd edition to today? My only rhinos, aside from a FW one are the original size which is smaller than the rhinos sold today. Yet they aren't illegal to play with and people still buy new rhinos, debunking the argument of "the old players will be mad."
Perhaps my comparision is just a straw man argument perhaps but, I feel it is a relevant point to bring up.
All that being said of course, I don't think you could get much bigger without damaging the game as it stands. Currently it just needs a reprint and plastic models of the old pewter/metals.

I'm so ready for this game to come back! I always loved the concept, but metal models on plastic flying stands was awkward, especially for larger ships. It will be great when everything is plastic.
The old scale is fine. If this wouldn't be an existing game, I might prefer slightly bigger models (not anything Land Rider sized though.) Maybe 30 - 50% bigger to allow more detail on the smaller ships and allow existence of corvettes (ships smaller than destroyers.) However, there are people with large collections of old models, so it is better if the scale stays the same.

Never played BFG, was released after I stopped gaming and gone before I came back, did have Space Fleet though.
Not massively interested in a new version, I have space games aplenty.
That aside, if GW either made, or teamed up with a specialist to produce some of these models in the same level of detail and size as say the £200 1:200 scale Trumpeter warships, I would find space for one, and if I could eBay the cats two.
Something you would never use for a game, but something with an insane level of detail, probably with a further etched brass detailing kit
For refer that Bismarck kit is 2,000+ plus parts, with some 300 odd of them being etched brass.
The sort of model that would look jaw dropping as a display, and would be just begging for a lighting kit

Scaling up is a stupid idea, and not just because I have 10k points of existing models. Even Firestorm Armada has playability issues because of its oversized models despite the rules actively discouraging clumping up, whereas BFG encourages it.

No way..... then i would have to rebuy my fleet. hahaha
And while yes Firestorm and BFG have the same size models. BFG has fewer modles that are large. in a 2k game the most you will see are 3 large ships. in firestorm you will have a dreadnought 2 capitals and then gunships possibly 2 or 3 gunships the same size as the capitals and depending on the size of your ships since alot of teams ships are sized differently... my Drindizi cruisers are almost as large as a BFG Retribution class. while it may Be sized the same, you will see alot more large scale ships on the table with Firestorm.

I'd prefer they keep the same size. If they don't, I'd prefer they go smaller rather than larger. The game was getting pretty awkward already with models overhanging bases in all directions and often we'd remove models from their stands in order to play.
Most of all I'd like to see updates in play mechanics along the lines of X-Wing or Armada. Movement templates, status dials, all that good stuff.
