Hello, I am looking to pick an army that doesn't have vehicle kits (or are at least easier to put together than a Rhino) as I've had nightmares getting them to fit. I am not a good modeler or hobbyist.

I know Tyranids and most Daemons, but are there any other armies that have builds that don't require vehicle kits?

Tau. They use a lot of jet pack infantry and MCs.

Eldar Bikes and Wraithguard, unless you count a bike as a vehicle.

Really, any army can be vehicle free.

Having built a few Rhinos i'd say the Tyranid MCs are either the same difficulty mostly. Flying Tyrants are easier whereas the Tyrannocyte is a massive pain in the neck!

The hormagaunt and termagants are a bit poor, mold lines and fiddly. But Rippers as troops require no modelling skills and they're one piece. Mawloc kit is easy and nice.

Grey knights, not sure about how hard a dreadknight is to put together but you can run an 1850 GK army with something like 20 termi models and 2 DKs if i remember correctly.

To many unpainted models to count.

Chaos Daemons, as you've already mentioned. Eldar require no vehicles to be competitive, Tau likewise rarely field vehicles with the exception of Piranhas. SM top builds are actually surprisingly light on vehicles as they abuse their allies to create absurd deathstars packed with psykers.

The only competitive vehicle heavy build is the full Gladius Strikeforce, which abuses all the free transports. The only other arguably high end lists which use vehicles are the War Convocation, with its mandatory onagers, longstriders, knight and option drop pods; and perhaps the Skyhammer which makes use of several drop pods.

It's none of my beeswax, but do you have a physical limitation that makes putting models together difficult? If it's just a lack of patience or experience, than maybe practice a bit more? If none of the above, maybe it's not the hobby you're looking for?

On topic, Cult Mechanicus has no vehicles. Their largest kit are some dopey-looking bubblebots.

Daemons - Soul grinders are the main vehicle, the are good, but not required
Tyranids - No vehicles at all
Tau - some vehicles, but you can get by easily with all suits.
Renegades and Heretics - Yeah its guard, but artillery is their strong suit. Their flyer stinks too. Infantry, artillery, and chaos goodies will keep you just fine!
Grey Knights - Nemesis strike force - Its pretty mono build, 1-3 dreadknights, fill the rest with terminators. Spice with wargear.

Those are the armies that I can think of off the top of my head as being very common with no vehicles.
Below are armies that can do no vehicles, but it is less common

Space Wolves - More and more often 100% TWC armies are showing up, Its powerful, but a mono build.
Necrons - Destroyer Cult, a few tomb blades, warrior blobs and some wraith formations will give you a powerful decurion. Necrons can get by without vehicles just fine.
Eldar, Space Marines, Dark Anges - All these can do bike heavy armies of one form or another and do it well.
Khorne Daemonkin - lots of bikes and fleshhounds.

I can't think of any time I have ever seen a BA, DE, or IG army without a vehicle. Not saying it couldn't happen, just saying I haven't ever seen it.

You could always shop ebay for used, assembled, unpainted vehicles.
