Hey guys, looking for alternatives to using a stormraven for my grey knights. I did want to use a runabout or a Battlestar but they are both a bit too long.
So any suggestions on what sort of things I can use instead of the brick with wings?

I would go with a converted Valkyrie (hell I would just go with a valk with the appropriate weapons and say it's a loan from the local inquisitor) Those actually look like plausable aircrafts and pretty badass.

Well, this comes to mind:
Alternatively I've seen people using Rupublic Gunship toys from Star Wars as Stormravens (pretty much the same size too)

It's kinda amusing that the actual stormraven looks even weirder than the flying land raider.

I find the Raven more palatable by using a lower profile turret up top and not adding the air scoop up there.

Um, you want a Proxy for looks or money reasons?
For looks: this little kit can help you forgive a few sins:

Cost-wise... umm... if you have a drop-pod lying around and a Rhino you might be able to fabricate something.

Ummm... April 28th 2016 they posted some new renders on their Facebook page and are responding to questions.
Back in February they had to go to part time so that may be the cause for the slow-down.
Anyone who went toe-toe with GW is not some fly by night company but are probably still hurting financially.

This could work as an alternative Stormraven:
It includes a detachable troop transport pod.

I actually have a 1/72 scale Star Trek Runabout. It is (roughly) as long as a Valkyrie (nose to tip of tail).
I've been thinking of replacing the warp nacelles with the engines from a Valkyrie, and the cockpit area is recessed with almost the right size and shape to mount the clear plastic windshield from the StormRaven.

Brilliant idea!
The engines on a valk are much too small to replace the warp nacelles but worked on the top. I thought of leaving the nacelles off but decided I sort of like them, in my head they are the anti-grav units that actually allow this brick to fly.

Kid_Kyoto, which runabout model is that and do you have a stormraven to picture with it?

Kid_Kyoto,
Nice work there, I might have to do a little copying of that. The largest problem I have is: Where do I put the doors? People (and Dreadnoughts if it is a StormRaven proxy) need to get into this thing. The best I can think of is to carve a hole in the back.

Sorry no Storm Raven shot, there is no way I would ever put time or money into a kit like that.
Best I have is this one with a Valkyrie and Chimera for scale
As for doors, I just assume the back opens up and everyone climbs in.

I'm starting to think something using the cockpit of the Valkyrie, engines of a Valkyrie, and the wings of a Stormraven might not look too bad. The only thing I'm stumped on is what to use as the cargo area. Using the Valkyrie hull would make it look too much like a standard Valkyrie.
