Serious question... would those 1/72 rednecks make good children in a 28mm scale game?

No they'd be to gracile and have totally different proportions to an actual child. If their shipping fine though I'm after some for Gaslands!

"But me no buts! Our comrades get hurt. Our friends die. Falkenburg is a knight who swore an oath to serve the church and to defend the weak. He'd be the first to tell you to stop puling and start planning. Because what we are doing-at risk to ourselves-is what we have sworn to do. The West relies on us. It is a risk we take with pride. It is an oath we honour. Even when some soft southern burgher mutters about us, we know the reason he sleeps soft and comfortable, why his wife is able to complain about the price of cabbages as her most serious problem and why his children dare to throw dung and yell "Knot" when we pass. It's because we are what we are. For all our faults we stand for law and light.

Ok. I admit I have been a little obsessed with the little Ukranian soldiers guys all day. I found the following on EBAY
https://www.ebay.com/itm/254094171648
1/24 scale giant/Troll
Not sure how big that actually makes him... but at $10 seems like a good deal. Automatically Appended Next Post: Oh, and I found the section on the ones in the video from plastic soldier review in case any one is curious on any of the sets.

That's how I was once I saw the video. I kept trying to think of ways I could use the figures, but all I could come up with pretty much was either as proxies for Kings of War or making up my own homebrew game (something I used to be interested in when I was a teenager). The figures look to be a little small for something like Warhammer or even MESBG, but maybe some of them could be made to work?

This topic really deserves it's own thread as this is a thread for toys not 20mm wargaming miniatures, but I'll play until a mod splits them.
Like any scale, 20mm (1/72) has it's pros and cons. It predates even 25mm as a wargaming scale It's very affordable, easy to store and in historical eras there's a huge variety of miniatures. It's also the same scale as OO model railroading and close enough to use HO (1/87) buildings and accessories. There are also metal ranges.
On the other hand, the fantasy and Sci Fi ranges are much more limited, painting and modifying soft plastic has it's own challenges, and these days it's become a niche scale with a smaller player base than 28 and 15mm.
Trying to incorporate them into 28mm game is mostly a losing proposition, but if you have a couple friends who would like to try a new genre/game/ruleset affordably, it can be a good option. There are dozens and dozens of games these could be used for if you're willing to approach the scale on its own merits and look outside the GW/MANTIC bubble.

Well for better or worse I bought a couple of boxes.
Amazons
Wargs
Guards of Cardinal Richelieu
Musketeers of the King of France
The wargs I think will just be war dogs in 28mm games. No idea what the other stuff will be used for…

Skeletons for your terrain and wargaming needs!
https://www.michaels.com/product/17-angel-skeleton-by-ashland-10749105?michaelsStore=9179&inv=1
A 17" angel skeleton! I am really tempted to pick it up and just lay it across a table. A dead angel the size of a skyscraper, that's an objective worth fighting for!
https://www.michaels.com/product/13-dragon-skeleton-by-ashland-10749012
Perhaps the Angel fell in combat to the 13" dragon?
https://www.michaels.com/product/55-spider-skeleton-by-ashland-10749008
The spider is a mere 5.5" and of course spiders do not have endoskeletons but honestly once you're talking about spiders the size of a house does it even matter?
Plenty more here if you want to do a deep dive. I kind of like the idea you could cover a table with all 3 for under $20.

I found some saucy stuff in that search. The skeletal scorpion would have been great, but I've already taken care of my Tomb Scorpion needs. What I'm gonna look for now is anything that might work as Ushabti or a Casket of Souls.

Between the trees and the mausoleum, it'd make great VC terrain. Not sure it's Egyptian enough to pull a COS off, though. Thanks for the heads up, though.

For the general amusement of it I'm making an AoS Sons of Behemet army.
Using giant apes!
Pictured are the apes I've found posing with a GW gargant/mega-gargant between them to demonstrate scale.
1st pic:
A GW Mega-Gargant flanked by a DC Comics Gorilla Grod action figure & a King Kong figure (both found at Walmart)
2nd pic:
A regular Gargant, Titano (from Heroclix), & a Wizkids "giant ape" for D&D/pathfinder.
I need several more Titanos & Giant Apes + bases

Love!
The problem with the AoS giants is GW didn't go all the way for pose ability and include ball joints and other options to pose them so they get a lot of repeats.
Using action figures should solve that nicely, can't wait to see it done!
