I can only hope that Hasbro never does a HasLab to reproduce either the USS Flagg or the Technodrome. The monetary and space costs would be high, but the will to resist would be low...
The helicarrier I picked up in Egypt a few years back has made its way to the US.
It's a good size and a nice blocky cargo flier type thing.

The off-brand SHIELD Helicarrier is pretty cool looking, and based on the picture it looks like it paints up decently. Next to the painted carrier I couldn't help but notice what looks like a grimdark-ified Starfleet runabout.

Toy collectors are a breed all their own. There are some who would happily pay that much for just the box some desirable toy came in. And would likely drop 10 grand for the actual toy.

They arent buying the box just for the sake if having the box. They'd buy it because having that box ups the resale value of their copy of the toy.

This feels about as pointless as people obsessing over the value of their house while they're living in it with no intention of moving...
Buy things because you enjoy them, and enjoy having them, instead of worrying about what you can sell them for.
You do realize that
1: there's entire stores (both online & Brick & Mortar) who buy & sell old toys for a living, right?
(There's one about a mile down the street from my house infact!).
They will buy boxes, instructions, sticker sheets, parts, etc to increase the value of incomplete stuff they take in (that people bring in, yard sales. Estate sales. Trade...) it has nothing to do with enjoying having the thing & EVERYTHING to do with its sale price.
The more complete the toy, the higher the value they can ask. It's exactly the same as having a parts-matching vintage car.
2: There ARE collectors out there who get more enjoyment by having the box/etc for thier toy.
Again, just like being able to say you have a parts-matching car. Bragging rights - with the bonus that if you do ever need to sell....
I had some star wars style hover trucks 3d printed and i was looking for some other scifi cars in a similar scale-
Spoiler:
i picked up the blade runner 2040 spinner toy- pretty good quality
Spoiler:
So i decided to try and find the original police spinner in the same scale. i found a Christmas tree ornament and a model kit but they were not the right scale nor did i feel like painting.....so i ended up with this "not lego" kit-
Spoiler:
got it put together this week. turned out great. had to glue a few spots to keep it together but it turned out to be what i was after. the company has kits for a bunch of scifi movies/tv and games including battle tech mechs and space ships from the expanse, and mass effect for example.

That "not-Lego" set is from Bluebrixx, isn't it? I looked at their website before and I liked a lot of the Star Trek models they had.

OK, so went to the local Dollar Tree and picked up some of the Final Faction toys to play around with..
Kharn Rumbler and Poison Weapons pack
and the Human Arrow ATV and Weapons and Armor pack
With trusty Primaris Marine Pete standing in for scale, here is the parts layout
and
I had high hopes for the Arrow.. the Rumbler looked FAR to large, and I was right.
Rumbler has 5 components, and Arrow has a dozen.. took less than a minute to build the Rumbler, and 5 for the Arrow
Did not get into the weapons packs, after realizing the size issues
I had also gotten a Synthoid and weapon pack, and just left them alone
If anyone here WANTS these items, let me know, cause I am just not going to use them at all and would rather get them to someone who might than donate them to a thrift store.
However, the next post was a bit more exciting for me...
Automatically Appended Next Post:
Wife texted me from Michaels that the Spooky Season plywood buildings were on sale for $6 instead of $10, so she picked me up a couple to play with.
So, came home with the Pumpkin Patch and the Haunted House buildings..
these look like they would be pretty darn scale for my Blackwater Gulch board, and I have little issue with breaking apart a $6 kit. They each have a small light in the base that can be popped out.. the only small issue I think I will have is that everything is glued togeather, so taking off the roofs might be tricky to try to move models around inside.
