Since most of my AT is either melta, MB or dread ccw, is the venator a better fit here, or is the base Sicaran decent enough?

To bump to 2000pts, plan to add my 5 cat terms + land raider.

I think the standard sicarian is a better all-rounder. You'll probably get more mileage from it IMO.

Venator's are great at higher point levels, where you'll run into more things like super heavies. At a 1500 point game, the Sicaran will be king.
