Is this still a thread to whine about Silver Tower?

Because I wanted to buy one and replace some minis with wfb ones but then I saw it in RL. It turns out that I only want sumoneer and tzaangors, it so much reeks of AoS. I don't like the heroes except the barbarian a bit maybe, hipster dwarf is worst but all are busy and weird. Ogroid Thaumaturge looks like something straight from Warcraft etc.

Not buying.

It's not old Quest, and it'll never be old Quest (unless GW throw more support behind it than an app full of overpriced nonsense and miniature boxes devoid of rules). But it's still heaps of fun.

I actually returned my copy and wrote a strongly-worded letter to GW. Absolutely, total lack of Malal-worshipping fishmen.
I cc'd trading standards, too.
THIS MUST NOT BE ALLOWED TO STAND.

I agree, I can't believe they made Age of Sigmar miniatures in an Age of Sigmar game, I personally took one look at the sprues and threw them in the trash. The only acceptable part of the product was the dice, thankfully they weren't branded Age of Sigmar although I'll still feel dirty every time I use them in a good ol' game of Warhammer the Game of Fantasy Battles.

A new "season" of War ?
Do you think they are going to do seasons like League Of Legends ?
A kind of "living" ruleset and background ?

That I can believe.

It's good that it suceeded btw, it's not for me ofc but means more games etc. Shame that not an Old World though, the era of GW board games return came too late.

Those half-bird looking beastmen models in Silver Tower are amazing. I would love it if GW would release a full box of them.

It's not like there wasn't plenty of stuff available on line for you to make exactly the same assessment without needing to see it in RL.

No.

The poor man really has a stake in the country. The rich man hasn't; he can go away to New Guinea in a yacht. The poor have sometimes objected to being governed badly; the rich have always objected to being governed at all
We love our superheroes because they refuse to give up on us. We can analyze them out of existence, kill them, ban them, mock them, and still they return, patiently reminding us of who we are and what we wish we could be.

Awesome! Thanks!

Do we have an estimated time frame? I'm also curious if other Gods will get similar Beastmen. Could be a return to the old Pesitgors and Khorngors!

Finally played this on Friday while drinking a great selection of sour beers. We only made it through the first trial. It was crazy easy until the end, and we random encountered the Gaunt Summoner before he was supposed to show up. We didnt get any skills and we didnt summon the gaunt summoner in the final room because we killed everything in the room without the light pillers touching the statue. Not sure if we played it wrong.. but man it was pretty fun.

Is there a rules discussion thread yet?

Check out the faq on GW's page. There is an issue of the summoner showing up when he should not - it may just be your case.

Yeah I know. I somehow subconsciously chose to ignore the bad, really wanted new WQ. It just stroke me like a lighting, seeing it on the table.

I was gravely serious btw lol. The guys on fire post was just friendly banter though, we're all friends now after all that drama, no? NO? Whyyyy...

There is an unexpected event where he spawns as an illusion or something. I think what you are mentioning is an issue with the instructions for shuffling the first trial exploration deck. It's worded in a way that some people might accidentally shuffle where the final room would be at the top.

If you removed the one Stormcast figure you wouldn't even know it had anything to do with AoS.
But people will like/hate what they will so I get that.
I'm not a fan of the new dwarf aesthetic.

The game is actually pretty fun and is seeing a good amount of play in our small FLGS.
Thumbs up for Warhammer Quest's return.

Incorrect. AOS style is much more than does it have sigmarines. It affects whole design style.

You remember how players noted end time models didn't fit that well with FB aesthetics? That's because style WAS thematically different. Similarly the models in silver tower have AOS style. You wouldn't mix them up with FB models.

Back on topic, I'm curious to see how The Muster event might affect FLGS play. Our store owner decided to buy in to the starter set after he's seen that we're playing it on weekends.

Wondering also how the points value book (General's Handbook) will be received.

I wanted to buy a thing, and then looked at it and decided not to buy it after all because I didn't like all of the things that were part of the thing because those things reminded me too much of a newer thing that they're part of but I don't like that new thing. Cool story, bro.

If by design style you mean, not having everything on the model bunched up in order to make it rank up all nice and pretty in regiments. That was, for me at least, part of the reason I never got into the WHFB system. It was a dull and repetitive way of modelling.

As for mixing AoS models with WHFB models. Yes, I absolutely would mix em up. Particularly the WHQST models.

I played a game of Silver Tower at a store the other night, and had 2 random people come up asking to play that already had the app on their phones and had bought a few heroes. The way the app works apparently makes it easy enough to use it in lieu of the actual card, with its own dice rolling app and treasure tracking. It feels like GW mainstreamed this game a lot better than their others (space hulk, overkill, etc) in a way that makes it a lot easier to get games going.

I played Skaven in Warhammer Fantasy, I never want to go back to rank and file models so long as I live...

Unfortunately I also dislike moving large units one model at a time...

Agreed. For myself and my group, giving it another chance with fan points rules made all the difference, and highlighted how fun the core of the game really is. I sincerely hope people who may have hated it sans points, give it another shot once the General's Handbook comes out.

For myself, AoS brought me back into the fantasy part of warhammer after the 40K got so bloated with rules each game was a frustrating headache. Painting an egyptian themed dark elven army with only female elves and "constructs" is also much more entertaining than painting necrons...
