The poor man really has a stake in the country. The rich man hasn't; he can go away to New Guinea in a yacht. The poor have sometimes objected to being governed badly; the rich have always objected to being governed at all
We love our superheroes because they refuse to give up on us. We can analyze them out of existence, kill them, ban them, mock them, and still they return, patiently reminding us of who we are and what we wish we could be.

"Battlefield Roles" excites me. I'd heard rumors of the point-system also including other changes to force-organization, such as limiting monsters/heroes/etc... I think that would likewise do the game good, as restricting say, heroes, likely means you need to make more meaningful choices when deciding if you are going all-in on one wombo-combo, or if you want a proper, diverse force.

Bring on the General's Handbook! I know the AoS forums have devolved into a black and white, "points or no points!!!" but from my perspective, bringing more players to the rules is a powerful, and ultimately good thing.

I agree on the Battlefield roles. I knew they would do something with the units like troops/heavy/fast attack etc like 40k since they are doing points.

I can see the role system now, broken up into Heroes, Troops, Elites, Monsters, and Artillery, or something along those lines, with slots for units. Very similar to 40k, but probably more choices available per role, to leave things looser, which is AoS's style.

I'm hoping to get a copy of that WHW exclusive novel "The Realmgate Wars: Ironwarp Citadel" that they're making available...(*cough* calling all WHW visitors)...but, back OT, this summer campaign is going to be great and I'm thrilled to see the mad-skilled artisans at WHW producing a showcase piece like this for the fantasy fans.

That's unfortunate. So if you want to help your faction win the campaign, just make sure you buy/build a army out of nothing but the best unit in your army and take more of them then your opponent. Atleast if your playing AoS "raw".

I know at my local GW's basically the way they have been playing age of sigmar is both players lay out the units they want to use and the employee on at the time "suggests" how to balance the forces. I imagen for FLGS they would just tell people to use some established comp system. (As far as I understand, the GW employees try to discourage people form using the comp rules because they are not "official"/GW approved).

With the current way the armies are built their is so many outside influences on the match ups, it makes it hard to realy get invested. Past campaigns struggled with preventing people from manipulating the results, and feels the current state of age of sigmar just opens up a can of worms.

Huh? there could easily be force orgs in the book. No one knows except it will have points. I really not understanding what your going for here. A points system will balance people from going "im taking 6 nagashes"

The points handbook is slated for store copy use July 1st. Then it releases 3-4 weeks later.

How they will keep track of wins/etc is when you win, your GW store or FLGS will give you a special card with a unique code. You go on the website, enter the code, and do the battle report.

If the campaign starts in June but no point system until July, means current broken aos for a chunk of the campaign. Unless I'm misunderstanding the time line.

Whether there was that many really painted or result oh photoshop is another thing. GW has history of using photoshop to multiply things.

On another note I'm somewhat puzzled why GW went for general book so late to start of campaign. Okay stores get single copy in advance but in busy store that might be very busy book and odds are book would sell better if it was from the start of campaign to begin with. Why the delay?

Haven't seen anything but picture in the internet. Which makes me suspicious instantly. Especially when it comes to GW who's known for use of photoshop.

If I see them live and there is that many painted then fine but until all I see is random picture in the internet...

Tinfoil? There was random picture posted. I simply noted it might not be as many really painted models as it seems as GW has habit of using photoshop to make models appear more than they are. This after all saves heavy metal teams painting time. That's not even critic against GW but simple fact of their rather sensible practice.

AOS white knights are unbelievable. They seem to take every comment as personal attack even if it's not critic against AOS. Lol. Keep it up!

Do you read the comments in this thread, or just look at the pictures? It's a diorama - in Warhammer World - open for public view. You can't "photoshop" more models into a physical diorama lmao

It was a picture from the new diorama at WHW. It is a little bit tinfoil-y to suggest it's photoshopped when it's from a physical diorama people can go and see. And it's not like they haven't done crazy huge dioramas there before, there's been a few (Ultramarines vs Khorne, I think that was the one which was in the staircase and went up a floor or so, big Calth one with Warlord Titans, think the Tau vs Mechanicus one is pretty big).

Ok, keep calling me a white knight if you want to. Just for some clarification, I have played ~6 games of AoS since it launched, and since it's launched have picked up 30k, Warmachine/Hordes and X-Wing, all of which are vastly superior games in my opinion. I'm also not playing AoS at all until the campaign starts at the earliest, more likely when points are readily available.

Might be to test the waters possibly on the reception of the game with points before they mass send all books. Or it could help the stores out a bit on how much they order

Books comes July 1st or so, people can(and im sure will) take pictures of their armies points costs from the book, then build them. theres your temp "codex"

You play it and if you like it you have your store order it for you. If you don't like it, the store needs to order one less
