Which BL AoS books are worth reading? I just started Stormcast and I rather like their lore, is it better to pick up the books or the campaigns?

I liked the audio dramas the most, which are available now as books (at least digitally, not sure on standard print).

The Hunt for Nagash and Knights of Vengeance stuff is pretty good listening IMO. Helped me paint up a good amount of my Stormcast stuff.

Yup I give a for the audio dramas. Nagash's voice actor killed it in those. The new lord of Undeath book finishes that plot off somewhat.
Now the books I would recommend? Call of Archaon, Lord of Undeath, Blade Storm, Warbeast and fury of Gork. Those are my favorites.
Erm you should read the campaign books and the BL novels if you want to full scope of what's going on in AOS.

War beast by Gav Thorpe is good. Of all the black library guys, Josh Reynolds seems to have the best sense of what AOS is all about. I especially enjoyed Fury of Gork ( a bit short though)

While the armor still suffers from GW syndrome, the mini is interesting as it is the first Stormcast sans helmet. So it turns out they are pretty much just fantasy marines (engineered super warriors, yadda yadda). However, I really like that they painted it as a non-white bald man. At least a nod to diversity! Now if we could only get some non-stripperific female warriors sans boobplate.....

They don't even have to make new models in the Stormcasts case, just write some into the background. Suites of magical plate armour with sculpted pecs and face plates are pretty good at hiding the wearers sex after all.

That could be a female. For someone who doesn't want boob plate armour, you sure do seem you want a sexy female though. That mini could be a female grunting just before the fatal blow.

Wasn't specifically referring to Stormcast (who should probably be pretty androgynous anyway). I would have loved to see some female Greatswords. Presently, female line troops seem pretty rare outside of elves, and those of the dark elf variety are pretty much the definition of stripperific.

Fair enough. Thing is with Stormcasts, all are not human, so why put an Orruk or Alef in human form? This makes no sense to me at all. After all, Stormcasts are not all human but abducted from all the living I thought.

Beautiful and Deadly Keeper of Secrets

Actually considering the storyline, both are true (Though not the human part). As they die and are reforged, Nagash steals parts of the soul he can out of spite (Because they are HIS and not that barbarian who steals them from him as he thinks). So they slowly become more and more.. Well I guess Necronlike would be a good example. Harsh, objective, uncaring, only dedicated towards the mission without caring for those who serve them, serve besides them or otherwise.

There's actually been alot of requests made on the FW facebook for them to make Stormcast heroes. So this model has certainly pleased quite a few players.

There's also a Lord Celestant with greatsword in one of the novels, which always struck me as a 'we haven't released this model yet but it exists' sort of thing.
