Heyo Dakka! So, about a year ago I caved in and finally got into Infinity after sitting on the fence staring at the beautiful mini's. I read the basics of the system and fell in love with the active-reactive turn setup, and as I read on just about everything about the system. Long before ever actually committing I had already decided if I was going to play I was going with Haqqislam. I found their mid-range tech more aesthetically pleasing than the super-Sci-fi factions, but still wanted some Hackers, Remotes and a TAG.

I traded off a 40k army for a handful of Starter's for myself and a few friends. Unfortunately events led to not being able to play more than a half dozen games before a year's hiatus. Now I have a growing group of new players, so it's time to actually start getting these painted!

Right now I'm only sitting on ~200 points worth. I've decided until they are all complete I do not get to purchase anything else. So why not take advantage of the opportunity to do another P&M blog! I'll be readily posting new content over the next few weeks, aiming to complete a mini per day at least.

While I love the studio scheme for Haqqislam, my affinity for purple has pulled me away from doing it. I also have a strong dislike of metallic paints, so this will serve as an opportunity for me to begin with basic NMM on some models. (Hopefully getting decent at it, as I have a huge CoC army for Warmachine that needs it!)

The first 200 Points I'll be painting throughout the next week or two

The First Ghulam Infantry- (Just noticed I need to fix her base)

Nice! I like the touches of purple.

Always good to see some more infinity around here. Will be following this one

I think the purple accents will look great on the remotes.

Thanks! Yeah, I really want to paint my Kameel's, but I'm still figuring out exactly how I want to paint them. I love purples, but I'm trying to keep it from taking over as the main color. I have an overwhelming tendency to paint my armies for -everything- purple.

My initial guidelines were Cloth = Khaki, Armor = Purple, Weapons = Black, Leather = Brown, and metal accents = gray. Which with Haqqislam's abundance of LI works fine for limiting purple. But then I hit REM's and HI and that'd make them almost entirely purple and gray.

Working on a Naffatun and another Ghulam now while I figure out how to go about the rest. I really want to start my Kameels tomorrow!

Got some work in on the Naffatun tonight. I'll have to finish her off tomorrow, as right now she's lookin' a bit rough.

Just started losing focus towards the end, nothing I can't fix up in the morning though! And will update the pic then, haha.

I dislike painting with metallics too. Nice start on things, Sinphonite. Seems like your having some trouble with focusing the camera though.

Out of interest, Sinphonie, what is it about metallics that you dislike?

Looks like you're off to a decent start on getting these painted, though I might be concerned at just how much purple will crop up on the two four-legged doohickeys.

I've just never liked how they looked on minis. They always look out of place to me. Particularly if they are left reflective when everything else is being done with a generally "flat" palatte where we have to mimic the effects of light, shadows, depth, etc to some degree. They aren't quite as bad if they've been matte'd and are kept only to necessary areas, but I'd still rather not use them.

A small update, I decided to start working on one of the Remotes so that I could ensure that this scheme would work on a larger scale before investing any more time into infantry. Again, not 100% content with this one yet, I'll go back to smooth some things out and touch up other spots, but for an idea of how it's coming together...

The blue in particular really needs to be fixed up, the reflection wasn't wanting to work with me at all and was either too thin and running, or getting globby like it is right now. I'll mess with it again in the am!

Next addition to the army I have decided will be a number of Odalisques, but of course I have to finish what I have first. It's just so hard not to buy more pretty pretty toys!

Excellent looking minis. I think the choice of colours is fabulous.
