Warpsmith
-Aura of Dark Glory and MoT for 4++
Cultists (min)
2x Chaos Marines Squads each w/
-Melta bomb on champ
-Combi-plas
-2x Plasma Gun
-Rhino
Helldrake
-Baleflamer
Oblits x3
-All with Mark of Nurgle
Renegade Knight
-2x Avenger Gatling Cannons
-1x Whirlind-esque launcher
Troops get objectives, Warpsmith repairs knight that shoots at whatever needs to be dead, oblits provide DISTRACTION CARNIFEX/AT capabilities, Helldrake does the same. Might be lacking in the AA department, could take an aegis with the quad gun and the AA gun on the knight. Thoughts?

Looks good the only thing I worry about putting these dual avengers in lists is getting D slapped turn one.

What exactly makes the IK so vulnerable to getting D Slapped when running dual gats? Is it just too big of a threat? I would assume that it would be the first thing to be D slapped anyway.

1500 points list and I have a 330 point knight in it. It does turn one before it can do anything after being hit by ranged D. I still have 1170 points of army left to make a game of it.
If my knight was 480 points then I only have 1020 points of army left... Simple as that really.

No invul save in close combat. A WK with sword n board will slice the IK at i5 with 5 str D melee.
Wraith guards will have enough str D shots to get past 4+ invul ion shield is they get close.
If enough scat bikes focus and glance on 6s when shooting side armor you may lose 1 or 2 hp.
I watched a marine player with only 7 lascannons on his razorbacks, tacs, devs, destroy 2 IKs. He also had grav cents to glance them down. So the small combination of grav and lascannons was enough to wreck 2 IKs and the remaining 700pts. This is anecdotical so dont heed my story.

Ah I see. As it stands, my chaos list would lack a lot of punch to go up against the other strong armies at the moment. Obviously I could make the cabal death star, but thats a bit unfluffy for Iron Warriors in my opinion. Now I know I cant both have the cake and eat it, but does anyone have any reccomendations for a way to effectively run a renegade knight in this list? The close combat options seem slightly underwhelming for me, unless I am mistaken.

The tried and test Chaos Knight being grimored for a 2++ reroll and invisible by tzeentch heralds on discs is battle proven. I dont like it because you spend roughly 370pts to support the Knight with psychic abilities n the grimoire.
Try running msu marines. 6 guys 1 melta gun in a rhino.
Use cultists or Renegade and Heretics from Imperial Armor : Siege of Vraks
Also the warpsmith and aura of dark glory and mark of tzeentch is a waste as you can get sigil for the same 4++.

Savage Khorne Berserker Biker

Take a Crimson Slaughter Sorcerer with the Balestar of Mannon on a bike. Stay behind the Knight, using him for cover and roll for Invisibility, if you don't get that, then use the Prescience from the Balestar to give the dual avengers re-rolls to hit.

It is the 3rd Millennium. For more than a hundred months Games Workshop has sat immobile on the Golden Throne of Nottingham. It is the foremost of wargames by the will of the neckbeards, and master of a million tabletops by the might of their inexhaustible wallets. It is a rotting carcass writhing invisibly with business strategies from the early Industrial Revolution Age. It is the Carrion Lord of the wargaming scene for whom a thousand veteran players are sacrificed every day, so that it may never truly die. Yet even in its deathless state, GW continues its eternal vigilance. Mighty battleforce starter-sets cross the online-store-infested miasma of the internet, the only route between distant countries, their way lit by a draconian retail trade-agreement, the legal manifestation of the GW's will. Vast armies of lawyers give battle in GW's name on uncounted websites. Greatest amongst its soldiers are the Guardians of the IP, the Legal Team, bio-engineered super-donkey-caves. Their comrades in arms are legion: the writing team and countless untested rulebooks, the ever vigilant redshirts, and the writers of White Dwarf, to name only a few. But for all their multitudes, they are barely enough to hold off the ever-present threat from other games, their own incompetence, Based Chinaman - and worse. To support Games Workshop in such times is to spend untold billions. It is to support the cruelest and most dickish company imaginable. These are the tales of those times. Forget the power of sales discounts and Warhammer Fantasy Battle, for so much has been dropped, never to be re-published again. Forget the promise of cheaper digital content and caring about the fanbase, for in the GW HQ there is only profit-seeking, Space Marines and Sigmarines. There is no fun amongst the hobby shops, only an eternity of raging and spending, and the laughter of former employees who left GW to join better companies. |
