My advice for you is to go with the Fists of Medusa Strike Force. I think the bonuses from that detachment outweigh the detachment you are currently wanting to run with. Below is what I am running at 1500pts...it is less but packs a cool punch!

Armored Task Force – 500pts
Techmarine – Bike & Servo-harness – 110pts
Vindicator – Storm bolter & Dozer blade – 130pts
Vindicator – Storm bolter & Dozer blade – 130pts
Vindicator – Storm bolter & Dozer blade – 130pts

Command – 375pts
Captain – Bike, AA, Gorgon Chain, PF – 200pts
Command Squad – Bikes, Apoth, Champ, & +2 SS – 175pts

Command – 110pts
Chaplain – Bike – 110pts

Honored Ancients
Dreadnought – AC, HF & Drop Pod – 155pts

Honored Ancients
Ironclad Dreadnought – +2 HF & Drop Pod – 180pts

I wouldn't bother with the Land Raider spearhead if there's nothing to transport. They don't have any offensive capabilities.

And give the tech marine a bike so he can keep up with the vehicles. Also keep in mind that the detachment gives the vehicles within 12 inches power of the Machine spirit which sort of makes them fast vehicles.

That 36" Apocalyptic Blast is no joke!
I run the command squad with the Techmarine and Chaplain in to give Fearless, Zealot, and 4 additional PF attacks!

I've played a bunch of games with success using the Fist of Medusa formation, focusing on a deathstar with Smashbane, command squad(grav/SS) on bikes and libby conclave. Its very resilient as everyone has at least a 3+++ FNP. Not as deadly in combat compared to SW deathstars but defense is sometime the best offense.

Same here, my command tanked two demon princes and a blood thirster for about 5 turns. I equip mine with power fists though and no libby conclave.

Sounds like a pretty deadly squad but I can't spare much points for PFs in my list. From my experience, usually anything more than 4 S8+ weapons in a deathstar is kinda overkill, probably because I run the conclave for prescience which totally increase the damage output significantly. You might want to consider running a conclaves tho, S8 might not be too efficient against IK, which I would roll my Libbies on sanctic for Hammerhand.

While I may eventually do that, I've had too much fun with the Skyhammer and this small deathstar. I'd have to drop the extra devastator bodies meant to combat squad to fit the libbies in.

So what did you all think about my list that I will bring tomorrow? Any advice on tactics?

Hmmm ditch the champion. Pointless upgrade IMO and you probably want your SMASHY doing challenges anyways. Use the points you spent on the champion to buy a lightning claw for Smashy so he can get +1 attack and choose to use it instead of the fist in case needs initiative. Put the stormshield on the apothecary (if your group rules in favor of such) if not then just ditch the shields. 3 up armor, 4 up jink and a 3 up FNP should be enough to survive anything.

You dont have many units on the board, but all of your stuff is scary and demands attention. I like your list. I would be afraid to fight it tbh, but all it takes is a lucky few melta shots and goodbye everything you ever loved except that biker star.

I'm probably missing a trick here and it wouldn't be that effective for objective games, but if the daft FaQs go through unchanged it looks like you could stick tooled up captains with cataphractii armour in the assault squads of a skyhammer formation getting them into combat turn 1 if you wish (could give them artificer armour and jump packs but the termi armour is cheaper and still allows you to deep strike as far as I can tell.

Bit cheesey for my tastes but should be pretty effective.

You are missing something, as was stated in the initial post the independent character picture version got borked in the upload and is innacurate. Go back and read the purely text part of the post and you'll see that this would not work.

I stand corrected, just saw that in the latest update, glad I didn't get my hopes up.
