Subject: Artworks From Age of Sigmar Stormcast Extremis
I wouldn't call that nice art. This is why I will not spend $100 on their books. This art style doesn't appeal to me at all and I find it at best good Fan Art, but for something that wants my $100 per book, I find this trash.
For a $100 a book I expect Heavy Metal type art not this childish crap done on a computer.
Will now look at the link to see if there is any other artwork better.
*edit*
Saw the other pics. Not my style at all. I do not like them at all and don't think they are good at all. Liked only one pic out of the bunch.

Agies Grimm:The "Learn to play, bro" mentality is mostly just a way for someone to try to shame you by implying that their metaphorical nerd-wiener is bigger than yours. Which, ironically, I think nerds do even more vehemently than jocks.
Everything is made up and the points don't matter. 40K or Who's Line is it Anyway?

Is that Aussie pricing? The Stormcast Extremis book is $35 USD. Though I still think that the art is not as polished as it should be for that price.

No Canadian pricing. I guess I am wrong in what book I was thinking it was coming from. But isn't this still the same kind of art work in the other AoS books that are close to $100 or be about $75-85 US? I believe the Canadian price what I am thinking of is $90, so that would be 45 pounds, but once Canadian taxes are taken into consideration, it's over $100 per book.

Those are the bigger campaign books.

What I mean is the artwork is the same. I may have mentioned the wrong books, but still the point is the same. I don't think the artwork is any good. I should have said this artwork is not good as a PROFESSIONAL work. For amateur work, it's ok to good, but for Professional work, utter garbage.

The most expensive books are $74 USD or $90 CAD. They also tend to have better artwork. Balance of power has some really cool artwork imo. The picture above has a few errors but it isn't 'trash' even by professional standards (though I would say it is sub-par). At any rate, overall the art isn't outright bad (though some pieces are) but it is outright bad for the price. With the pricing those books are at I'd expect all of the artwork to be where their good pieces are, not 1/3-1/2 of them.
Most of it plastic and cheap. Nothing is worse about current GW than the deterioration of artwork.

How could I look away?

No it's not trash but for an expensive book when GW claims they are a "premium" product, yes it's trash. I guess when I am paying a premium price for something, I expect a premium product. These pics are not a premium product so that is why I say they are trash because they are selling them for a premium price.
If the prices were reasonable, then no, they are not trash.

Yeah those grins ruin it for me. All I see is it wants to be like a Tyranid Biovore pretending it's an Ork.

Wouldn't you be happy if you got to bite off the heads of some chaos warriors? The stormcasts expressions are also priceless in this context " Not NOW Scaly - we've got a job to do!"

i didn't realise this until you pointed this out Aos - World of happy dragons
Or GW is copying DC and are using Joker faces.

To me the art problem doesn't seem that bad, I like the art overall. But its a pretty subjective topic.
Yes it's subjective ofc. There's always that problem when you discuss these topics, I don't really want to insult someone's taste or sth, on the other hand internet is a good place to say what you really think without going truly personal.
As for the artwork itself, I guess it could pass as ok/ semi cool loading screen in a videogame. Trouble is, GW was one of the best when it came to artwork, even the 6th 40k/ whfb 8th, while less characterful, was still top notch and the whole gaming industry was looking up to them. Now I can find better in Heroes of Might and Magic np, which is simply sad.
