Okay, so we've all been here; find an awesome deal on eBay where the seller hasn't correctly labeled the lot he's selling, and you snag it up with a fairly low bid. In this case, 4 LE Gamesday models, one of the best recently OOP fantasy characters (metal on horseback), 10 metal knights, 21 infantry, 7 lords and 7 mages. $50. Guy offers slightly increased cost (by $17) to throw it in a GW case to ship. You win, and request a new invoice with the updated total. 2 full days go by and you're ignored. How long before you get to thinking he feels the total was too low and he ain't selling to you.

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.

Happened to me before, 4th ed whfb krell, vlad, Isabella and two necromancers for £10 inc postage. Guy said he'd sent it but never hit dispatched on ebay. After a couple of weeks of no comms I filed a claim. It happens, get your money back and leave bad feedback, if you haven't heard anything after the maximum dispatch time.

I do not think he can change the ammount after the auction was won without relisting, or canceling yours and sending you a private invoice. So i do not think it can happen.

I need to go to work every day.

Well, it was a postage offer; it would increase the calculated postage by increasing the size. Not changing the actual cost of the auction. I haven't actually sent the funds yet because I've hit the "request total" as the shipping is a "calculate" option rather than a fixed option. Negative feedback will be incoming if I don't get my stuff. I told him as soon as he sent the updated shipping charge, I'd pay. But seems he's ghosted.

It's the weekend, wait a few days. He might not be able to get the updated postal cost yet, counting on the hours of his local post office.

2 days over a weekend isn't much plenty of folk have lives that keep them away from a pc

(and if he wasn't going to sell the case offer seems odd)

if you got a good deal be patient

Stuff happens. Two days is really nothing. Sick kids, emergencies at work, etc.

Or something serious, kid in the hospital, or a funeral.

Fair enough; I just know the guy listed the auction in a very unfavorable way for traffic, and it ended at a very odd time. Had it been labeled properly and ending in the middle of the day instead of the middle of the night, it would be at least double the amount. So it was very easy to worry that the guy decided to bail out after the auction ended with a major loss. I'd say it ended at about 1/8th of what the value should have been, and almost all metal with only 2 models painted; and one looked pro painted from the pics.

On a surly Warboar, leading the Waaagh!

Be careful, you don't want him/her to cancel the auction for nonpayment. Contrary to what some others have said, you should hear back right away from a seller in response to attempted communications, weekends or not, family obligations or not, alien abduction or not...whatever. If there's an emergency on the seller's end, then they should be responding to you with said explanation, not radio silence. Ebay auctions are legal, business transactions and should be taken seriously by both parties.

I give them a full week before filing anything.

Currently have the same ongoing issue from a unit of 3 knarloc riders and a great knarloc with bow.
The guy spelled it gnarloc, so most missed it.

I won them for £25 and have not heard from him in 4 days, despite sending 2 messages and it not being marked as dispatched.

I'll give it a few more days then file as always.

I would wait a week.

To be frank, if the seller has decided to welch on the deal there isn't much you can do apart from register a dispute, go through the process and in the end leave bad feedback against him.

TBH I'd be leery of browbeating sellers into posting something they don't actually want to post. Things can get lost in the mail that way.

According to the OP it was the seller who offered upgraded postage.

So...is 5 days without a single response enough to be annoyed? I'm two days away from negative feedback and posting his account on here to warn you guys to avoid his future auctions.

No comm from his end is bad, but your adhd attitude isn't helping either, especially on a good value won auction.

Last I knew, eBay suggested a transaction have the money change hands within 3 days. Since I'm past that date, I don't think I'm being ADHD at all. Your rudeness of calling me ADHD, given that there has been no communication from him outside the suggested timeframe from eBay, is unwarranted and impolite.

What value? There is no value whatsoever to a successful auction until the buyer receives the goods he purchased.

I have remained polite to the seller, for sure; I've sent a heads up that I'm ready to pay via the "request total" and a friendly reminder today that I'm ready to pay. I've been quite courteous actually, despite my suspicions.

Meh, if I was busy for 2 days and got a dick message about a finished auction (I'm not saying there was one, just an example) I'd happily take the ebay hit. I'd refund and note that an issue cropped up. You get a few of those to use without it affecting your account.

Honestly there have been times I've not managed to get in touch for 4-5 days just due to life, kids, and work. If he's unloading this cheap it's likely not a priority for him.

**Edit**

Just saw the above. So you can ignore the first part of my post

I wait a week for a tracking number then file a dispute through paypal. If they don't respond within another week then I raise it to a claim and get my money back.

I have since had communication from the seller, payment has been requested and he apologized for the delay. Should be good at this point. It was right before that suggested deadline of waiting a week though.

I don't think you can even do anything until at least a week to fifteen days have passed.

I'd say chill for 15 days then open a complaint against him. He can either deliver or refund. If nothing happens, eBay will find in your favor and PayPal will refund your money.

In this particular case, communication has happened at this point and models were listed as shipped. However I didn't see tracking on it. At this point, I'm pretty convinced I'm just working with someone who isn't familiar with Warhammer values and customary protection for both parties. Will post once models arrive.

Not everyone takes the eBay thing as seriously as everyone else. Some people will pay immediately and ship immediately, others take their freaking time. It's part of dealing with ebay. Take it or leave it.

Update: models are in. Holy crap, gotta contact the guy and make sure he intended to send the extra stuff...there's a hook mountain ogre (looks like a GW sculpt, but never heard of it before-has label on tab), a 6th Ed metal giant, and a bunch of extra models. Hell, there's a full extra mounted Khorne Lord! Should he tell me it wasn't a mistake, I'll be unloading some of the stuff, like the Ogre and Giant.
