Hey guys I was just wondering out of the 2 weapon options for chaos knights which do you Prefere the swords and maces or the lances

The ensorcelled weapons are better overall, but the lances can be better if you are going to be charging a lot. However, you have to know what you are doing for the latter, where as the former is always a safe bet.

I must admit to me atleast chaos knights seem to be a anvil style unit so I think I will go with the enforce led weapons

Also instead of starting a new thread I thought I'd ask here which is more useful to build a gore beast chariot or a regular chaos one?

If you play comped AoS there might be a points difference, so in that case its more about what you can afford. The Gorebeast can take more punishment and also deals more damage so it's the more useful one imho.

My preference is lances for knights and gorebeast for chariot, but points may determine your choice.

Let me further muddy the waters about Gorebeast vs. Chaos Chariots. If you buy the Start Collecting! box, and build the Chariot as a Chaos Chariot, you get a formation, Sylath's Warhost. Build a Gorebeast Chariot, and you lose the formation. I've not yet finished assembling my Chariot because I'm torn; do I build the Chaos version and keep the formation, or get the extra wound and better attack profile of the Gorebeast? FWIW, my Knights have Glaives since I see Knights as always charging.

First, I'm not sure you lose the formation if you build the gorebeast chariot. the official name of the chariot is chaos gorebeast chariot, so it should qualify for Sylath's Warhost which requires a chaos chariot.

Second, there are other formations that are better than Sylath's. Godsworn Champions of Ruin from the Grand Alliance book is better. The various formations from the Everchosen book are also better.

I have built my Chaos knights with ensorcelled weapons but in combat they don't seem to have any punch, if i hadn't of glued them on so well I would definitely change them to lances. They seem like a tank unit but my chaos warriors are also a tank unit. I just need more damage output.

I understand what you are saying but I don't agree that it is as clear as you think it is.

If the war scroll said goblin unit, I think we all agree that night goblin units would be ok. So the question is, does a Chaos gorebeast chariot count as a Chaos chariot, and I think it does.

If we were playing a game, I'd suggest we just roll a dice to decide.

It is clear. 'Chaos Chariot' is a proper name and doesn't include units that just happen to have the same words in its name.
